Very cold day, but Gordon was a great guide to this very informative, beautiful walking tour around Charleston!

We did the historical walking tour with Gordon. He was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. We saw a lot of back alleys and off the beaten track locations. We was very candid about the dark, sad history of the slave trade in Charleston. We would highly recommend.

We took the daytime Historic Walking Tour in mid-March 2023. It was excellent for getting an overview of the historic part of the city, especially south of Queen Street. Our guide Meryl (sp?) was great, very knowledgeable and entertaining. It's about two hours of easy, enjoyable walking and good for getting ideas for other places to look into in more depth, come back to for a longer visit, etc.

Our tour guide, Linda Rigler, was enthusiastic, knowledgeable, engaging and friendly. She shared many fascinating insights about the history of Charleston. Linda pointed out lots of unique architectural features on numerous historic, beautiful buildings and explained the reasons behind them. She was a wonderful, personable tour guide.

We were lucky enough to get John, the esteemed owner, for our tour of historic Charleston. John is the consummate story teller and brought Charleston to life with his tales of the city from its founding to the current day. I wished I had longer in the city to experience more of Bulldog's tours. Thanks for the great memories, John!

I was in Charleston for a business conference, and I have to say, we were all lucky to have the owner, John LaVerne, give us a tour of Charleston. He was born and raised there, and has been running tours for over 2 decades - so he really knows what guests want to see and experience. The walking tour was a great mixture of looking at old homes, parks and historical landmarks. He knows all the little details, like which home Stephen Colbert grew up in .The whole tour was paced well and he mixed history with current events. You know when you travel somewhere and you meet someone who imbues the spirit of the place? They eat, breathe and sleep a location.Well that's how it felt spending a couple hours with John. I am sure he has fabulous guides, so taking any Bulldog Tour would be a worthy endeavor when you are in Charleston!

My husband, our 31 year old son and I had such a great morning with Linda Rigler and 10 other tourists on Sunday, February 19. The travellers in our group, including teenaged Charlie, were all lovely people. Linda has such a warm personality and her knowledge of the historical events of Charleston was highly impressive. She also had so many gems to add to our enjoyment of the tour: plants, gardens, real estate transactions ie. The Pink House, the canals, and her explanation of the locale architecture (piazzas, blue ceilings on porches, two front doors in the homes, porches, single houses with long verandahs, earthquake bolts - I tell you, it was so fascinating! Linda also made sure to recommend what we should visit, after the tour was over - like the Heyward-Washington House. We took her advice on that house and we were very glad we did.If you are fortunate enough to get Linda as your tour guide, you will be extremely lucky. Thanks again, Linda, from Alison from Toronto.
