Overview
This is a personalized, small-group experience designed to give you the best possible night dive at the Blue Heron Bridge.
Each group is limited to just 4 divers per guide, ensuring a relaxed pace, individual attention, a truly guided experience. You won’t be rushed or lost in a crowd, your guide is there to help you spot hidden marine life and make the most of every moment underwater.
Led by guides with backgrounds in marine biology and extensive local experience, this dive goes beyond the basics. You’ll gain insight into the unique ecosystem while exploring one of Florida’s most diverse underwater environments.
Night diving offers a completely different atmosphere; calm, quiet, and immersive. With dive lights, you’ll witness marine life that only emerges after dark, from octopus and rays to rare and fascinating species most divers never get to see.
With a strong focus on safety, small groups, and expert guidance, you’ll be in experienced, capable hands from start to finish.

What To Expect
Discover one of South Florida’s most unique underwater environments on a guided night dive at the Blue Heron Bridge.
You’ll meet your guide just before sunset for a short introduction, gear setup, and safety briefing while there’s still light to comfortably prepare. All scuba equipment is NOT provided. High-powered dive lights are included.
As the sun sets, you’ll enter the water and begin your dive right as the reef comes alive. This shallow, calm dive site is known for its incredible biodiversity. With the help of your dive light, you’ll explore sandy bottoms, bridge pilings, and reef patches where nocturnal marine life becomes active. Keep an eye out for green sea turtle, octopus, rays, eels, seahorses and other rare creatures that are rarely seen during the day.
Your guide will lead the group at a relaxed pace, pointing out hidden marine life and ensuring a safe, enjoyable experience.
After approximately 45 minutes in the water, you’ll return to shore to enjoy light snacks and drinks while wrapping up the experience.
Please note: Open Water certification (or equivalent) is required to participate.

Yes, we allow pregnant women to go on snorkeling. However, it’s crucial to consult with your healthcare provider before doing so to assess your individual health and pregnancy stage.
Jan 2022Yes, this is possible, as long as you are comfortable going into the water. All Cool Destinations snorkeling tours adhere to strict safety regulations and have been designed to be enjoyed by all.
Your safety is our #1 priority, which is why:
- You will be wearing a flotation device at all times.
- On many tours, there is a stairway from the boat into the water so you won’t have to “jump” in!
- There are trained staff in the water and watching from the boat at all times.
For these reasons, we believe that even non-swimmers can have a wonderful time on our snorkeling trips, however, the final judgment call is yours to make. Please note we do not give refunds if you decide not to snorkel on the trip.
Oct 2021The snorkel gear we use on Cool Destinations tours is high quality and for your protection, the equipment is sanitized after each use. However, if you feel more comfortable using your own snorkeling equipment, feel free to bring it on the tour. Please note, there is no discount for providing your own equipment and we can’t be responsible for any lost or damaged items.
May 2023Participants in the Night Scuba Dive at Blue Heron Bridge Small Group Experience cannot fly in an airplane within 24 hours of their dive.
The main concern with scuba diving and flying is decompression sickness (DCS). Your body needs adequate time during an ascent to off-gas excess nitrogen, or you can form bubbles in your bloodstream, possibly leading to DCS.

Oct 2021There are no legal age limits for snorkeling. We have found that age 5 or 6 is a good age to learn the basics of snorkeling, however, it’s entirely up to individuals to make the best choice for their family.
Sep 2021If you have any doubts about becoming seasick on the water, we recommend taking a Dramamine® Motion Sickness Relief tablet the night before your trip. Some people recommend taking it the night before your cruise and then again that morning so you will not feel so drowsy.
