The Old Adobe Mission was built by hand by the Mexicans who first settled in Scottsdale in the late 1910s. Completed in 1933, today it stands as a historic monument, as one of only three remaining adobe structures in downtown Scottsdale. Designed by Robert T. Evans it features beautiful Spanish Colonial Revival architecture and handcrafted stained-glass windows. For all who visit it provides a one-of-a-kind setting for historical reflection and spiritual solitude.

Located in Scottsdale's popular Old Town district, the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art (SMoCA) features the most compelling modern and contemporary art, architecture and design from around the globe. Designed by award-winning architect Will Bruder, SMoCA's minimalist building (an ingenious renovation of a former movie theater) includes a public "skyspace" by the acclaimed artist James Turrell (one of only a handful in the world), where visitors can experience the ever-changing light of the desert sky.
