Juneau Travel Guides (Updated September 2026)

This is a family-owned tour, and everyone is nice. They explain really well about the Alaskan gold rush. We enjoyed it so much

Very enjoyable experience the mine was spacious but still pretty spooky and all of the tour guides and staff were incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. Wish the gold panning part lasted a bit longer of course but it was still very fun and left with some gold flakes to take home. Great experience would recommend and would do again.

Was fantastic, I got to sit shot gin in the front seat! Would highly recommend, the staff were all lovely including the ladies in the shop, the polite and the men pulling the planes in, even without the front seat experience I think eveyone was able to get a very clear view and it’s was great

Comfortable trolley ride to the glacier with ample time to complete a hike to Nugget Falls (approximately 22 minutes each way). Visitor center is a must—the view is amazing and informative. The ladies room only has 3 stalls so use the trailer outside.

My husband and I enjoyed this outing very much. Our guide, was so fun, friendly, and funny. He took great care of the group. The whale watching was great. We saw 7 whales, and many birds. The two boat guides knew a lot! Very friendly. The walk to see Mendenhall Glacier was easy and fun. A stunning view. Thank you!

My wife and I were transferred to the Marina from our Cruise Ship by bus. We were met by Rob the Captain and the Guide Dale. It was a Beautiful boat ride out to the whale watching area. Dale and Rob were informative as we boated explaining the Terrain, Glaciers and Marine Life. We could have hade a better Guide or Captain. We saw Orca Whales up close and Hump Back Whales. We cruised to a small island and saw Sea Lions massed on its shores.I can only say it was a TOTALLY AMAZING TOUR with these two guys on the “Chugach”.

We had a spectacular day with Captain Graham on the Obi-Wan! He gave a great interpretive presentation throughout the cruise, sharing history, information about the islands we we’re passing and of course great information about the whales, orcas, seals and dolphins we saw along the way. Capt. Graham let us know that seeing orcas is hit and so we were fortunate to see several orcas! The humpback whale sightings were great! With Capt. Graham’s intimate knowledge of the humpback behavior he was able to give us a heads-up that the whale we were watching was probably going to breach and sure enough IT DID!! To see a breaching whale has been a dream of mine, so that moment was the thrill of my life! We would HIGHLY recommend you choose Harv & Marv’s for your Alaska adventure!

The Naturalists were great in giving us information on the whales we saw.But the Mendelhall Gkacier tour was a disappointment since the restrooms were closed early and there wasn’t enough time to see the glacier .

Great tour guide. His name was Kenny and he took us all over the area and gave us lots of history on Juneau and joked a lot. He gave us some various gifts, which were nice and unexpected. Would highly recommend this tour. It’s also not too long so you have time to do things in Juneau after the tour.

This tour is a must! It was truly amazing. So much fun and we learned a lot! And the puppies were sooooo cute!!

This flight is far out of my expectation. This glacier is so amazing that hit straight into my heart! I strongly recommend you should take this flight to see what is the wonders of the Mother Nature. We also need to appreciate this is the last land in the earth

Loved our dog mushing experience. The only negative was the ride was not as long as we would have liked. Got to meet the dogs after as well as some puppies. Staff were so accommodating and knowledgeable.

It was pretty great. Kenny was quite fun and patient.

Great experience! Up close and personal with the glacier. Mary, our guide and driver is fabulous! Overall price is reasonable.

We loved seeing and experiencing some of the local places and sights. Our tour guide was a lot of fun and just the right amount of interaction and information. Thank you!

We had an absolutely wonderful experience with Yoel from Capital City Tours in Juneau, Alaska! From the moment we met him, he was incredibly friendly, kind, polite, and professional. He made us feel welcome and comfortable throughout our entire experience. Yoel is extremely knowledgeable about Juneau and its history. He shared so many interesting stories and details about the city that made our visit much more meaningful and enjoyable. It was clear that he takes great pride in his work and genuinely loves sharing the history and beauty of Juneau with visitors. What made the experience even more special was how personable Yoel was. He even introduced us to his wife, and it was wonderful to see how warm and friendly they both were. That personal touch made us feel less like tourists and more like welcomed guests. We highly recommend Yoel and Capital City Tours to anyone visiting Juneau. If you want someone who is knowledgeable, professional, respectful, and genuinely friendly, Yoel is the person to ask for. He helped make our time in Juneau truly memorable, and we are very grateful for his hospitality! Thank you, Yoel, for such a wonderful experience. We will remember your kindness and the stories you shared with us for a long time!
