Welcome to Bend

Bend Oregon is a high desert oasis in the eastern foothills of the Cascade Range. The town was originally named Farewell Bend for the pioneer crossing point on the Deschutes River where wagon trains would split up to climb over the Cascades into the Willamette Valley or head south into California. Modern-day Bend boasts 300 days of sunshine and a combination of culture and outdoor recreation that has turned the small city into a tourist hotspot. Award-winning restaurants, spas, 18 breweries, four wineries, and three cideries provide refreshment after days spent hiking, mountain biking, kayaking, rock climbing, horseback riding, skiing Mt. Bachelor, and exploring the quaint downtown.
