The town was originally named Farewell Bend for the pioneer crossing point on the Deschutes River where wagon trains would split up to climb over the Cascades into the Willamette Valley or head south into California. Modern-day Bend boasts 300 days of sunshine and a combination of culture and outdoor recreation that has turned the small city into a tourist hotspot. Great father/daughter bonding trip! Me and my 26-year-old daughter went on the lava tube cave tour and loved it. Our guide, Charlie, was very informative and led a great tour. This was a fun thing to do in Bend and something we wouldn’t have done on our own. Shared the info we learned on hikes/walks with the rest of the family over the next few days.

A nice, easy paced tour. Scott is a mellow, genial host who took us to a diverse selection of Bend's local brewpubs. All the locations had a different vibe and varied beer tastes. Silver Moon gets my vote for the best of the three. A great introduction to the Bend beer scene especially if you are visiting or new to the area. Recommended!

Great overview. Really small shop but fun to see how chocolate is made. We were also able to make our own bars.

We had a beautiful ride! I appreciated that safety came first. We were outfitted with helmets and a Hit-Air vest (it's like an airbag for your chest in case of an accidental dismount) The horses, Ty and Maverick, were sure footed and easy going. The ride was all within the forest and along the river, no open meadows. We sometimes shared the trail with some walkers their dogs. Along with the geographic history of the river and lava flows, we were treated to river views that went from rapids to calm. If you love horses and nature, I highly recommend Wilderness Horse Adventures!

Abbey was exceptional. Friendly, informative, positive and willing to answer questions. She explained how to use the canoes, the surrounding lava and volcanic activity and the guided tour to Lake Paulina and back.We would do this tour again and recommend to others.

Here’s a guy who can take you to scenic locations that are not listed anywhere. He also happens to be a brilliant photographer, writer and raconteur. Meet Christian Heeb, with whom I spent two delightful days touring Oregon. Not only that, he also made me a detailed 7-day itinerary when I told him I wanted to see America’s famous canyons, but didn’t know where to start. That was the plum on the pudding! Thank you Christian!

This was one of the best tours we've been on! The lake we were taken to was amazing! I am new to paddle boarding, and Scott made sure I was totally comfortable before going out on the water. Gorgeous views of snow covered mountains provided the backdrop while we paddled and swam in clear lake water! Everything was provided for us including transportation, beverages and snacks. Highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting the Bend area!
