Top Bend Kayaking & Canoeing

Cool Destinations didn't make it clear it was a physical business. Once there everything was great. Everything was taken care of. It was safe, definitely beginner friendly, life jackets provided.

Took a group of 5 managers for a team building Perseid’s meteor shower moonlit canoe excursion on Elk Lake. We have been coming to Bend now for 8 years as a group and are always looking for new experiences. This one did not disappoint. Isaac was our guide and this was one of the most incredible experiences we all have had. Isaac‘s exquisite storytelling made the trip one that we will remember for years to come. The knowledge he shared about the constellations and Greek mythology in between seeing the meteors kept us engaged the entire evening. Canoe experience level varied in our group and Isaac helped everyone feel comfortable and confident the entire time. Easy getting on and off the water and we didn’t even get our feet wet. Do plan to help pack canoes down to the water. We enjoyed the physical activity to justify the delicious cocoa and cookie break. Everyone in our group highly recommend this trip and hope that you are lucky enough to have Isaac as your guide.

Well managed activity and just as the brochures described. Van trip to lake. All kayaks set up for us… guide Kevin shared interesting history of the area while we paddled along. 5 boats in total, 2 to a kayak. Wind was up a bit making the paddle a bit more cold and wet than expected but still really enjoyable for 2+ hours of boating.

The Night Canoe tour was outstanding. A truly wonderful experience on Lake Hosmer with views of the stars , shooting stars, and the Milky Way. Our guide Laura was knowledgeable and a great host for our group.

Awesome better than u anticipated

Wow! What a great experience to kayak with a local expert! So easy to meet at their location near downtown, a pretty drive where guide shared interesting info along the way. Great kayak equipment, easy put in, and a really lengthy float where we felt like we got to see so much of the lake and learn about the local flowers and plants, aquatic life and wildlife. Always felt comfortable and had a chance to both relax and get exercise at the same time - all during a beautiful nature experience.

Shea educated us on geology, local power grid, fish, obsidian, trees, logging and fire that shaped what we saw. Her entertaing approach and interactive communication style was just right. Thank you for a fantastic adventure!

We had a great tour with Shae on July 3rd evening. Canoeing on Elk Lake under a full sky of stars in a cool summer breeze was beautiful. We also witnessed amazing Northern Lights, an unusual sight in South Oregon.

What a beautiful way to see nature while on a trip to Bend. The lake was so clear with gorgeous views of the mountains. Our guide was so knowledgeable of the geology and pointed out many interesting things along the drive and on the lake. Highly recommend.

My husband and I were embarrassed that we could not paddle in a straight line. Still, Our guide paddled close to us several times to get us moving in the proper direction. We were also pleased with our guide’s briefings on the geology and hydrology of Lake Paulina and the Newberry Caldera.

We had such a great time on the Cascade Lakes canoe tour with Wanderlust Tours. Our guide Jeannie was wonderful. She was kind, funny, and really knew her stuff, and she kept our group together and helped us navigate the lake with ease.The tour is easy and relaxed, and the water is so calm it feels like you’re floating on glass. The views are incredible, with Mt. Bachelor and the Sisters in the distance and tall pines all around. We even saw a few ducks and lots of trout swimming under the canoe. It was a beautiful way to spend a day in Bend.

Staff was welcoming, the car ride there was filled with conversation and interesting facts about Bend, and kayaking on the water was a beautiful way to tour Paulina Lake

It was such a wonderful night paddling experience. Under the Milky Way, drifting across the lake with the fresh scent of aquatic plants in the air, and stars reflected on the water. Sipping hot cocoa while listening to our guide Dylan share stories about the night sky with the group, I felt an unprecedented sense of peace and contentment.
