A friend and I took the evening tour with Austin. It was absolutely incredible!! Although we were a bit nervous about kayaking in the dark, Austin led us safely through the mangroves. We saw many birds settling in for the night, including spoonbills! The setting sun on one horizon and the rising full moon made for stunning views in all directions. The trip highlight for me was the bats leaving their roosting place under a bridge and heading out for the night. Just amazing to witness. We were treated to a rocket launch from Cape Canaveral in the distance as well. A magical kayak trip we’ll never forget!

Austin is a wealth of knowledge of the area, the eco system and the importance of maintaining it. Austin made sure all guests were comfortable and following along. The day was great. We made it back before the storm rolled in. Well worth the $ for experienced and inexperienced kayakers.

Had a great trip with Austin. Got rained out originally and great communication on getting rescheduled. Loved the trip up river and through the mangroves. Austin was pointing out all parts of the ecosystem as we paddled through. Would highly recommend taking this trip even for a novice.

Last minute putting and couldn't have asked for a better day on the water. Austin was great and took his time to point out the wildlife, even got lucky to see a spoonbill. Nice 2 hour paddle through the mangroves. Recommended!

A fantastic time out on the Anclote river with Austin
We went out on a morning tour and saw lots of birds, Ospreys, Kingfishers and a Bald Eagle!
Austin is very knowledgeable on the eco system along the river and the history of the Sponge Docks
I would highly recommend this kayak tour and are looking forward to booking an evening tour when we are back in the area

Would recommend the 9:30 tour. Gets hot. Learned a lot about the area . Very educational. Austin, the guide, was extremely knowledgeable and patient if you are new to kayaking.

My daughter was visiting from out of state this weekend, and I wanted her to have some genuine Floridian experiences, as opposed to the typical amusement parks or tourist attractions. I was happy to find this reasonably-priced experience on TripAdvisor, and the 5/5 rating is accurate and well-deserved.. Austin was our guide, and he is extremely well-versed in the ecosystem of the river. As we maneuvered our kayaks among the mangroves, he spoke of the history of the region, the history of Tarpon Springs in particular, and pointed out the various forms of wildlife and their respective places and contributions to river environment. He answered our questions with humor and courtesy. We saw so many feathered and finned inhabitants (and yes, even dolphins.) Pack your sunscreen and water and prepare to enjoy two hours appreciating the beauty and balance of river life. I highly recommend River Wild and our wonderful guide (and I, a Tampa resident, would definitely return and bring guests along to enjoy the experience too!) A solid 5/5!

Took the whole family out here and had a fantastic time. Our guide Austin was very patient with beginner kayakers and knowledgeable about Florida vegetation, animals, and local history. Our experience was absolutely amazing, we had 2 separate dolphin sightings and learned a lot throughout the tour.

We had a fantastic experience with Austin. We took the 9:30 eco tour. There were 5 total in our party and our tour group consisted of 9 people. It was a perfect group size. Austin is extremely knowledgeable and very personable. His passion for nature is apparent with the depth of knowledge he imparts on his tour. He understands the wild life and the eco system and is well versed in the history of Tarpon Springs, the sponge diving industry, and the history of the Anclote River. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the eco tour. I would highly recommend Austin and River Wild Kayaking.
