Overview
Learn firsthand about Black History from a 5th generation South Sider in a 2.5-hour walking tour of Bronzeville and beyond.
Highlights of the tour include, Barack Obama’s home, Muhammad Ali’s home, Local murals and street art and Drinks!
The tour will begin at the DuSable Black History Museum, the longest running museum dedicated to the preservation and documentation of Black history and culture. After meeting there, we will tour historical sites of artists and activists who shaped what we recognize as the Black Metropolis of America—discover a side of Chicago that stands taller than the buildings of the Riverwalk.
Some things to note: The tour does not go inside the DuSable Black History Museum (but I encourage you to visit), Bring a camera or phone for photos. Come with questions (I am happy to tell you all I know)
