Welcome to Asheville

Asheville North Carolina is nestled in the Great Smoky Mountain foothills at the confluence of the French Broad and Swannanoa rivers. The mid-sized city features numerous historical attractions including the incredible Biltmore Estate, a French Renaissance castle built by George W. Vanderbilt in the 1890s, and a multitude of year-round outdoor activities in the nearby mountains and Pisgah National Forest. The city offers a vibrant urban scene and active ats community, great bike touring, and many watersports on the rivers. Floating or paddling the French Broad river is very popular, and many river trips pass through the River Arts District with stops at the area’s craft breweries and excellent eateries.
