The mid-sized city features numerous historical attractions including the incredible Biltmore Estate, a French Renaissance castle built by George W. Vanderbilt in the 1890s, and a multitude of year-round outdoor activities in the nearby mountains and Pisgah National Forest. The city offers a vibrant urban scene and active ats community, great bike touring, and many watersports on the rivers. Floating or paddling the French Broad river is very popular, and many river trips pass through the River Arts District with stops at the area’s craft breweries and excellent eateries.

Mark, our tour guide did a great job. The second brewery on the tour wasn't very good. No one liked their beers. Green Man was awesome.

This is a terrific way to experience the Blue Ridge Parkway and a few of the waterfalls in the area. We would not have been able to locate these places on our own. Our guide was Eli, who took us to some of her favorite spots where only the locals know about. She was also very informative on the types/species of plants, as well as their uses. Cannot recommend this tour enough. It was one of the highlights of our trip.

Victoria was our lovely tour guide on a very cold, blustery afternoon with temps in the 40’. She was patient with waiting for 3 late arrivers to join (however, standing around resulted in the rest of us freezing)! Luckily during the tour she included two long stops indoors so we could warm up ( very much appreciated). Victoria gave an interesting narration of highlights of downtown Asheville, especially the historic figures in town along with funny anecdotes. The tour included a stop at a distillery for a tasting of liqueurs & opportunity to do some retail therapy! Thanks for a wonderful intro to this amazing and interesting city.
