Duke Kahanamoku was a true Hawaiian hero and one of the world's greatest watermen, excelling in swimming, surfing, and outrigger canoe paddling. He was born on August 24, 1890, and grew up swimming and surfing in Waikīkī

Kapiolani Park was named after Queen Kapiolani, the queen consort of King David Kalakaua.
The park was established in the late 1800s and was originally used as a horse racing track

Kaimana Beach is a spacious and quiet beach that is great for recreational beach activities and family fun. You will se a scenic view of all of waikiki extending all the way to the west side of the island.
The beach is protected by a wide reef, and the nearshore ocean bottom is shallow and sandy, making it a nice family beach

Dole Plantation was originally operated as a fruit stand beginning in 1950 and opened to the public as Hawaii's "Pineapple Experience" in 1989
