Wonderful ocean tour! Special thanks to Kristin, Connor, and the rest of our tour guide. It was my first time snorkeling, and Kristin was incredibly patient in helping me learn to breathe through my mouth—a challenge for this ballroom dancer! I’m glad I tried it. Such a fun and memorable experience! Connor did great in taking pictures, but I only had 2 poses, wish it could be more for that price.

Today we had so much fun with Captain Amy and the crew of Makani, Grace and Shaba! We motored out of the harbor with front-row seats to the local surf action beside us.Once clear of the reef, we immediately hoisted the main into the fresh northeastern trades, and the humming diesel engine fell silent for the better part of two hours as wind became our fuel.Captain Amy took us up the coast toward Diamond Head, gliding through the beautiful blue waters offshore from Waikiki.For those who wanted the full interactive experience, the bow was the place to be! We had some real thrills as the boat cut big, juicy slices off the side of the rolling swell. With spray on our faces and rushing water over our deck-warmed feet, everyone collectively cheered and begged for another refreshing slice!We had incredible views northeast up the coast, as well as west toward the Waianae mountain range, including Kaʻala, the highest point on the island.Beyond Diamond Head, we reversed course and glided west with the wind at our stern, flying fish buzzing all around us. We spotted big turtles swimming nearby and, at one point, slowed down to join a pod of spinner dolphins playing just outside a bay.And just when we thought the trip couldn’t get any better, we spotted a Hawaiian monk seal — an incredibly rare sight!An unforgettable day on the water with an amazing crew. I highly recommend this experience to anyone looking for a fun, adventurous, and truly beautiful way to see the island from the water! 🌊⛵️🐬🐢

We absolutely loved our morning snorkel and sightseeing cruise with Ocean Joy! This was the #1 highlight of our time on O'ahu.The crew was fun, thoughtful, and all-around just a good vibe. We saw a green sea turtle, dolphins, a day octopus, and of course plenty of fish by the reef! The food was delicious, snorkel equipment clean and easy-to-use, and the boat comfortable and accommodating. The warm-water hose off after being in the salt water was a nice plus too. There were maybe just 4 or 5 other couples on board with us, so it never felt crowded.The photographer on board got so many great pics - including of us underwater! We did not hesitate at all to purchase the photo package at the end - they were so cool, and definitely worth the value of now having to worry about your own phone the entire time.We'd originally booked our cruise with a different company -- "Ko Olina Ocean Adventures" -- but then they texted us the afternoon before our tour saying they were cancelling it because they couldn't fulfill "the guest minimum" to make it worth their money... So we quickly pivoted to booking with Ocean Joy Cruises (and even saved about $50!) and are SO happy that we did! We'd choose Ocean Joy over and over again! 5 stars!

We really enjoyed our glass bottom boat tour. The actual boat ride was one of those simple vacation experiences that ends up being incredibly memorable. Once we were out on the water, it was relaxing and beautiful—the sun on our faces, the wind in our hair, the occasional sea spray, and the views of the ocean. It felt like pure vacation magic. The only part of the experience that could use some improvement is the check-in process. We arrived very early, actually too early to check in according to the person at the check-in desk. We waited just to the side of the check-in hut in the shade. As other passengers arrived, they naturally began forming a line behind us. However, there was no sign or clear direction indicating where the line started or how the check-in process worked, so some people simply stepped in front of us. We were the first people there to check in, and the staff knew that, but others were allowed to check in before us. As a result, we ended up being the last people to board the boat and by then all of the shaded seating areas were taken. A simple "Line Starts Here" sign or clearer instructions about where to wait would make a big difference. I also think it's important to acknowledge guests who have arrived and are already waiting, particularly when they arrived before everyone else. Fortunately, it ended up working in our favor. We got seats at the very front of the boat, and they turned out to be the best seats in the house. We had completely unobstructed views of the ocean and a wonderful breeze as we drifted along. The staff on the boat were pleasant and pointed out marine life for us to see. They also kept everyone entertained with plenty of jokes—although the "dad jokes" were a little more than we needed. The waiting area is hot, but once the boat starts moving, the breeze is perfect. And honestly, that feeling of being out on the water made the entire experience worthwhile. Our biggest tip: get to the front of the boat if you can. The views and breeze were fantastic. Overall, we loved the boat ride and would absolutely recommend it. The check-in process could use a little more organization, but once we were on the water, it was a wonderful and relaxing experience.
