Whitewater Rafting Small Boat Adventure Snake River Jackson Hole
Overview
This is the "High Adventure" option for those who want the wettest, wildest ride in Jackson Hole. Lewis & Clark (est. 1971) runs the absolute smallest guided rafts on the Snake River. More importantly, we are the only outfitter offering a pure "paddle-only" experience. We stripped away the heavy oar-frames found on other tours to give you a lighter, faster, and more responsive boat.
In our 14-foot rafts, you sit right on the waterline. Every wave looks bigger and hits harder. It is an aggressive, team-focused run where you provide the horsepower to smash through legendary rapids like Big Kahuna and Lunch Counter. With a maximum of 8 guests, there is nowhere to hide from the splash. This is the closest you can get to the whitewater without actually swimming.
The trip covers 8 miles of Class II and III whitewater featuring rapids such as "Lunch Counter" and "Big Kahuna." Round-trip time is approximately 3.5 hours. For an exclusive experience, call our office to book a private boat.

What To Expect
Start your adventure at our Jackson office for check-in and gear—wetsuits are free for kids 12 and under! Grab your dry clothes bag for the 30-minute drive into the Snake River Canyon. At the ramp, meet your guide, get a safety talk, and suit up with PFDs and free splash gear.
Then we launch. We run the absolute smallest commercial rafts on the Snake. This is the only pure paddle-guided trip in the canyon. Without heavy oar-frames weighing us down, the boat is ultra-responsive and fast. You sit right on the water line, fully exposed to the river’s power.
It is up to you and your crew to drive the boat. You will dig deep to smash through the towering waves of "Big Kahuna" and "Lunch Counter." This is an aggressive, wet, full-contact river experience where high-fives happen after every rapid.
At the take-out, use our riverside changing rooms to get into dry clothes before the shuttle back. Wrap up at the office to view trip photos, shop, and tip your guide. (Call our office to inquire about private boat upgrades).

Wetsuits and booties are available for rent at our office (highly recommended for cooler days).
- WEATHER POLICY: We raft rain or shine! In the small boat, you are going to get wet regardless of the weather. We provide free splash gear at the launch to help cut the wind/water, but come prepared for the elements.
