Overview
With the world-renowned and historic destination of Kealakekua Bay just minutes from our point of departure, the Captain Cook Exclusive is a personal, exciting, and efficient way to see the Bay named one of the world’s best snorkeling locations. Kealakekua Bay is a 315-acre marine sanctuary that boasts incredibly protected waters year round making it the best place in Hawaii for beginning snorkelers.
After a full hour of snorkeling in the crystal clear waters directly in front of the monument to Captain James Cook, you make your way back to Keauhou Bay along the South Kona coastline. Your Captain maneuvers our custom-made vessels into the sea caves at the base of Hualalai, hugging the coast and detailing the culturally significant and geologically fascinating features along the way. Watch for dolphins, whales, sea turtles, and even herds of thousands of goats! If you plan on snorkeling while in Hawaii and want to see what few do, this is the tour for you.

A fun experience whether you are solo or with family or friends. You can do this on a sunny or cloudy day. The ocean water temp is just fine. Many different fish you probably couldn’t see in other areas like Kailua Bay. I saw different fish here. Pretty cool to see the cliffs and the layers of lava that created the Big Island.

Great tour, perfect for my kids (first time snorkeling) and my husband and I (experienced snorkelers)! Our boat crew was awesome--knowledgeable, helpful, and patient. We learned a lot about the aquatic life in the area and the island's history and saw a whale, a pod of dolphins, and a manta ray! This tour was one of the highlights of our trip to the Big Island!

The morning Captain Cook trip is awesome! Captain Kevin and crew well organized, friendly, knowledgeable and professional! Such a beautiful bay to leave from, with all its Royal history. And snorkeling at the Captain Cook monument is simply amazing!

Such a fun experience! Water was warm, saw tons of marine life, even dolphins. We had a blast! Captain Lauren and Morgan we awesome and the boat ride out was really fun. 10/10!

We had a great time on this snorkeling tour. Since it was raining, they called us and offered us a full refund if we wanted to cancel, but we decided to go ahead with the tour. Due to the weather they gave us wetsuits to use at no additional charge. Our boat captain was great and very informative. Everyone in general was very friendly and helpful. This was my husband’s first time snorkeling and they took extra time to help him find the right mask and make sure everything was working well for him. The snorkeling itself was fantastic. The reef with all of its colorful fish was absolutely jaw-dropping. We saw so many different types of fish and even an eel. While headed back on the boat a dolphin playfully swam up and hung out by us for a few minutes. It was a great experience overall.

We love the Big Island and have been coming here since 2006. One of the activities we love most is snorkeling, whether at the beach or by boat…and we go out with Seaquest every time we visit. The small group makes it personal, the Zodiac boats are a great way to be on the water, and the captain and crew are knowledgeable and fun. Or recent outing (the Captain Cook Express) with Brendon and Adam was another great day!

We had a great experience with Sea Quest and Captain Jill on the Captain Cook Exclusive tour this past week. Captain Jill is chill, patient and knowledgeable. She pointed various sea creatures to us on our way to the snorkeling site and explained the sea caves and lava tubes very well on our way back. We saw lots of fishes and enjoyed every minute of the tour. Would definitely go with them and Captain Jill again!
