Meteora is a small Greek peninsula with spectacular natural rock formations, including monasteries and other buildings built on top of huge monolithic limestone rocks.

Monasteries in Meteora are famous for their amazing architecture. Monks have been living in the monasteries for more than a millennium and have helped establish the region as one of the most important places in Orthodox Christian Orthodoxy. These monasteries have been built on top of huge rocks by Byzantine monks, who've lived there since medieval times.

At this tour, you're going to see famous monasteries of Saint Stephen and Saint Paraskevi. It is one of the most significant monasteries in Greece and houses a museum with many priceless relics.

The Monastery of Grand Meteoron is the most visited site in Meteor. It is located 2,100 feet up from the ground on a rock formation that resembles the shape of a star.

Holy Monastery of the Great Meteoron -Transfiguration of the Saviour

The largest of the monasteries on the highest spot of Meteora, the Monastery of Grand (or Megalo) Meteoron was founded around 1340 by monk Athanasios. The Monastery of Grand Meteoron is one of the most important historical monuments in Kalambaka. It is located on a hill overlooking the city. The monastery was founded by Tsar Ivan Kaloyanov in the 14th atcentury, and it was built on a site where there had been a church dedicated to St. Nicholas since the 10th century. Monastery of Varlaam

The Monastery of St. Varlaam is an Eastern Orthodox monastery that is part of the Meteora monastery complex in Thessaly, central Greece. It is situated at the top of a rocky precipice , 900 meters above the sea level, surrounded by forests and open to the sky.   • Cool Rewards is a loyalty program operated by Cool Destinations. Rewards may be earned by any eligible person holding a Cool Destinations account, subject to the Cool Destinations customer Terms of Use.

Earning rewards

  • Rewards can be earned by making bookings on the Cool Destinations website. You will be able to see the value of the rewards you can earn during the booking process.
  • Earned rewards will be issued in a pending state and will move to a confirmed state 24 hours after the start time of the experience.
  • Earned rewards will be available to redeem once they are no longer in a pending state.
  • For bookings that are moved to a different travel date, the rewards will be redeemable after the amended travel date.
  • If a booking where rewards were issued is canceled, the earned rewards will not be redeemable and will be moved to a canceled state.

Redeeming rewards

  • To redeem rewards, you must be logged into your Cool Destinations account.
  • Any available rewards will be automatically applied the next time you make a booking, and their value will be deducted from your order at checkout, unless you choose not to apply them, which requires you to indicate this via the toggle switch. Bookings made using rewards are subject to the standard Cool Destinations Customer Terms of Use.
  • You will not be able to redeem only a portion of your available rewards at checkout. It is only possible to redeem all or none of your available rewards.
