We had an absolutely fantastic day on this tour! Our guide, Chris, was wonderful—friendly, incredibly knowledgeable, and so patient throughout the entire trip (even when my group got a little slaphappy). He paced the day perfectly, making just the right amount of stops and always keeping us updated on upcoming restroom breaks, which made traveling completely stress-free.The itinerary was exceptionally well-rounded. We got to experience the stunning moors, the beautiful dales, lovely blooming flowers, a charming seaside town, a historic steam train, and iconic Harry Potter filming locations. On top of everything promised, Chris even treated us to a few extra surprises that weren’t on the official itinerary, which made the experience feel truly special.I cannot recommend this tour enough. If you’re visiting York and looking for an effortless, memorable way to get out and explore the countryside for the day, this is a must-do!

Chris was friendly, fun, and informative! A great experience from beginning to end. We were picked up on time and driven comfortably through lovely villages up into the moors. Stops were plentiful for bio-breaks, photo ops, and coffee/snacks. Whitby was fun. Chris helpfully dropped us at the Abbey so the walk back to the village center was easy. His lunch spot recommendation was just perfect. We enjoyed the steam train from Goathland to Pickering was pleasant. A must for train enthusiasts. Chris gave great ideas for photo opportunities too. The drive back to York was also delightful with a surprising stop at the Augustinian ruin at Kirkham. A great, great day!

Five-star tour is an understatement! The value of this tour to experience Yorkshire was incredible! Truly a great experience from start to finish.Easy pick up and drop off. Incredibly clean luxurious transportation. Wonderful sites to see. Great snacks and the guide knows all the best places to experience a coffee or an ice cream. Truly we felt cared for.Our tour guide, Andrew, was very knowledgeable, warm and flexible. We never felt rushed, we were able to experience a lot of the North York National Park and the Yorkshire coastline, at one point we were lucky enough to see a take off and landing at the Yorkshire Gliding Club. I’m looking forward to using this company for the Yorkshire Dales, too bad we only had a short about of time.What beautiful landscape we experienced in England. We learned so much history, but never felt overwhelmed by the knowledge being dropped on us. I would recommend them to anyone.

We booked a Yorkshire Dales tour with Barry for a special occasion - my sister’s 50th birthday - and our expectations were exceedingly surpassed from the moment Barry came to pick us up and we met Chauffers the cat in Grassington. From there we were delighted with All Creatures filming locations and historical insights at each stop. And Barry’s knowledge of the local trees and landscape is just superb. Ten out of ten- It was a day like no other and my entire extended family (all 8 of us) from 11 years old to over 50 just loved every minute. Thank you, sincerely.

What a wonderful day our family had with Richard, our knowledgeable guide. We were picked up from our hotel and traveled to Haworth, visiting the Parsonage Museum where the Brontë sisters grew up, as well as the church and post office from which they mailed their manuscripts. We then continued into the Yorkshire Dales and the otherworldly moors, passing beautiful historic villages and farms, a castle, and a creamery, and even taking a walk to a waterfall. My family learned a great deal about Yorkshire while traveling in Richard’s comfortable car and felt well looked after throughout the day.

Great day out around Yorkshire with all the stories from Heartbeat. Very entertaining and informative guide. Went to Whitby & lots of the Heartbeat locations. Plenty of time in each place.

My daughter and I booked 2 full day tours with Expedition Yorkshire, both led by Senior Guide Richard, that were absolutely wonderful. Richard picked us up right at out hotel and led us on a deep dive of beautiful Yorkshire that went so much further than typical tourism. He is a native of the area, and his knowledge abounds. He also tailored our tours to us and was lovely, responsive and flexible at all times. Also a shout out to Andrew, who always responded immediately to my emails and questions. Expedition Yorkshire surpassed my expectations in every way. I highly recommend them to those wanting to really experience Yorkshire and discover all it's beauty. We will be back, accompanied by Richard or Andrew.

Our driver Andrew took the time to get to know us and our reasons for travel so that he could truly show us an authentic view of the UK. To truly see the UK you cannot be walking in London. You need to get out into the Yorkshire dales !

amazing family trip day moments feeling funny

In a most positive way, this was a super long way filled with some amazing scenery and a great guide who is also the owner of his company. Andrew was simply amazing, and he kept our attention all day long, making sure that we were comfortable enough. He also brought various snacks and had water on board, plus the ride in the Mercedes V class that he owns, made us sure we were super comfortable. His tours are not scripted, and he provides a lot of insight.In short, we saw the following, Yorkshire Dales National Park, the site where All Creatures Great and Small was filmed, Bolton Castle wehere we stopped for coffee, The Bowes Museum, County Durham, Twice Brewed village where we had a lunch stop, next we saw Hadrian’s Wall, and we passed through Northumberland National Park, the most popular border area between England and Scotland.A day filled with great moments, stunning natural scenery, and amazing stories. This is the kind of day you remember for a lifetime. Thank you, Andrew, for showing us some of the best parts of Northern England.

We stayed in a charming apartment at 41 Middlethorpe Grove, just off the Tadcaster Road near York's beautiful, ancient city. The accommodation is spacious with a double bedroom, bathroom, kitchen (very well equipped) living room, dining room, a snug and an outside sitting area. It is nicely furnished and spotlessly clean. There is parking and it is quiet. Just 5 minutes walk away is an excellent bus route into the centre of York (parking in the centre is very difficult) and 5 minutes in the other direction is York's Knavesmire, a wonderful green space in which to walk and the home of York racecourse. The owners live next door and greeted us warmly, but respected our privacy. We recommend 41 Middlethorpe Grove to any couple wishing to visit York and its vicinity.

Our private transfer tour from Edinburgh to York was the highlight of our recent trip to the UK. We are independent travelers and typically do not use guided tours, but we heard Andrew on a podcast and knew we wanted to try Expedition Yorkshire. It was a first class experience every step of the way. He engaged us in thoughtful conversation and was quickly able to understand our interests and tailor the trip for our enjoyment. Andrew was extremely knowledgeable in all aspects of the history and geography of the region, as well as every other topic that was raised. He gave us options along the way and was very accommodating over the course of our journey. It was truly a joy to get to know Andrew and have him as our guide on that memorable day. Couldn’t have asked for more knowledgable and entertaining guide during our time in the UK. Andrew helped us with transportation from Edinburgh to Yorkshire and other transport to Oxford. He has a deep love of Yorkshire and was constantly attentive to our needs. We would recommend him without doubt.

Great app, saw places we probably would have missed, the points and bonuses make it much more fun, loved it and cant wait to play again in the future. Will be on the list of things to do when travelling to another city.

Chris was amazing. Great communication, full of local knowledge, excellent driving, very flexible and helpful. The Moors were stunning in September with all of the heather in bloom. The abbeys and steam train were beautiful and there were frequent stops for pictures, breaks, little bits of local information. Nice van, helped with wheelchair for my 90-year old mother when we were in Whitby.

Chris was our driver. The van was clean and comfortable. The other guests (7 of us in total) were very nice and we all got along very well. Whitby was a great place for lunch and touring. But, Chris was the one that made all this happen smoothly!
