Top York Halloween

Haven’t been to York for many years. A friend recommended this tour. We were sceptical… £17! However, it’s worth every penny. Nutmeg is amazing. We had a brilliant time. Totally immersive. Engaging. Full of fun and lots of history. Do it!

We had a great evening in Ragnell's company on 22/8/26. He started the tour with a warm welcome for everyone, and I think we knew immediately that we were in for a fun evening. We got history and facts but told in a great story-telling style which means you actually remember lots of it! The whole tour was unforgettable. Highly recommended. Thanks Ragnell!

LOVED IT!!!! We are not typically a tour family but for sheer entertainment, historical info and energy this tour was absolutely worth it. Witch Nutmeg was witty and amusing, and kept the whole group engaged with her dramatic tales which made us feel like we were getting inducted into some kind of magical circle. As a mother of daughters I felt horrified by some of the stories of the past, and also inspired that we could do with some witchy feminist energy in our present too!!! A brilliant activity to do on a York trip - thanks Nutmeg!

It was a lovely experience and the guide had fun stories. Would definitely recommend to someone who wants a fun night tour through York. The tour was a small group which was nice.

My wife and I enjoyed our walk around Shambles while our tour guide - Cornelius? - educated us on York's gruesome history. Cornelius was an excellent tour guide who kept us entertained the entire way!

Witch Nix was amazing and a treasure! So thoughtful to bring water for everyone because it was so hot. We had been walking around for a few days but heard and saw a lot of new stuff, so nicely brought. Recommended!

Attended the free event in August, but would have happily paid as it was well worth the ticket price had it not been free. The witch was a great story teller that kept us entertained throughout the walk, visiting various areas in York. It lasted well over an hour long but it seemed to pass quicker than that. There must have been about 35 people on the day of my visit, but this was not a problem as I could still hear and see everything from the back of the crowd. Great atmosphere during the walk and the costume and props helped. You hear various stories in each area you are taken to so it keeps it interesting. If you're just visiting York or live in the area, it's worth a go one evening. Great price for a great walk.

We took our three granddaughters for an evening of fun in York and they certainly had it. Most enjoyable although the youngest was a little sceptical when she first saw our “witch”. but warmed to her by the end of the evening.

Great experience from the start. Ragnell was happy to get lots of photos and the beginning and the end of the tour. We were masterfully navigated us around York and its 'locals'. Best witch I've ever met and the costume was so amazing some of the locals thought she was a real witch and us her followers! The crowd was a really good size and there was good participation. We had lots of giggles! We would have happily left a tip but there was unusually no request and there were lots of people wanting photos so didn't loiter at the end. Brilliant wee trip -would highly recommend - thank you!

My family and I attended York witch walk on 8/8/26. We were greeted by Ragnell, who took the time to meet and greet everyone in the group. The whole tour was exceptional from start to finish. Ragnell is so captivating and her storytelling is not only humorous, sad but full of love and respect, a perfect mix of history and storytelling. She is the perfect host making everyone in the group feeling involved and taking the time afterwards for photos. Highly recommended, the best tour in York. Absolutely amazing!
