Brilliant tour. Guide was fantastic. What a memory she has for all our names but also all her facts. Really advise anyone visiting York to do this tour.

Very entertaining. Good value for money. The bus itself had been decorated really well. The conductor was really funny.

This is a great way to relax while seeing York from the river and learning a few bits at the same time! We paid around £15 each for an hour river cruise, having booked in advance online. The boats were coming and going constantly all day, so we had a decent choice of times. We sat on the top deck and enjoyed the view, our dog also loved the experience from the comfort of his blanket. We especially enjoyed the commentary, but it was also nice that it was not continuous chatter or at a deafening volume. The breaks in the chat were a pleasant opportunity to just relax and enjoy the experience! There is a bar/cafe on board but we did not use it on such a brief trip. Very highly recommended as a decent value and fun experience!

This was the better value for us because the ticket is good for 2 days + a boat tour for just 1 pound more than the red bus operator. While the route is shorter, the extended route did not include features we wanted. It covered all the highlights. One downside is that one of their buses was taken out of service for a maintenance issue and we had to wait almost an hour for a pickup. On a second use we did not experience any inconvenience. This is also a Cool Destinations tour and we've always had a good experience with Cool Destinations.

Had a great trip on this bus - Jeremy was wonderful as our guide. So knowledgeable and funny with it. Great value and a lovely weather to boot!

During our two-day break in York, the 48-hour ticket covered our entire stay. The guide brought York’s history and landmarks to life with impressive knowledge and distinctive humour. At a time when recorded commentary is becoming more common, the live presentation stood out. We completed the full tour twice over the two days and learned something new each time. It offered excellent value and deepened our appreciation of York. We recommend taking the bus tour before beginning your sightseeing. It provides a helpful overview of York’s highlights and makes it easy to explore them at your own pace by hopping on and off throughout the day. The hop-on, hop-off service made visiting the attractions easy and convenient. It was perfect for our trip, and we would happily use it again on a future visit to York. Every driver and guide was friendly, approachable, and helpful.

Visited Saturday 12/09/2026A wondaful relaxing river excursion on the mighty Ouse River. The Staff were friendly and welcoming, and the vessel clean and tidy. there was a bar on board selling snack and drinks, though we had just had lunch. Good value for money for the trip, and not crowded. we were on bboard for a good hour, so excellent value.

Very enjoyable trip. Fantastic scenery. Varied itinerary. I enjoyed the churches from small to large. Obviously a great draw for All creatures fans. Appreciated hotel pick up and return. V comfortable vehicle. Happy day.

What a fantastic wizard walk, we had a ball. It was perfect for our 8 year old, he absolutely loved it, as did we. Fun, interactive magic for the small wizards, jokes for the adults. Highly recommended.

I bought the 3-day ticket for April 2026 and feel I got my money's worth. There were a few attractions that I wasn't able to get to as I was using public transport but the attractions I went to were quite good. As it was the Easter weekend, I wasn't able to get into York Minster on the day I planned due to religious services but that was fine.I got some help from the tourist information office staff regarding the app and the ticket which helped. Overall, I would get the ticket again if I planned another trip to York as there is still plenty for me to see.

This was a very enjoyable hour cruise. The dock is conveniently located in the downtown area, the staff was nice, and information given during the cruise about the history of York was great. I highly recommend sitting in the top back.

Our day with Greg was the perfect combination of adventure, history, beautiful little villages, and the feeling that we’d simply been invited along by a very knowledgeable friend to show us around his favorite corner of England.Greg took our small group through several charming villages, sharing stories and fascinating bits of local history along the way. He clearly knows an incredible amount about the area, but what made the tour so special was that it never felt like a lecture or a scripted tour. With such a small group, it felt more like Greg was proudly showing off his hometown to friends who had come to visit.Then came the steam train to Whitby — because apparently a regular train simply wasn’t dramatic enough. 😂🚂 It was such a fun part of the day, and having Greg meet us on the other end to direct us around Whitby made everything wonderfully easy.And then there was the lemon top recommendation. 🍋🍦 Greg, you were absolutely right. That ice cream was perfect. I may never again be able to visit Whitby without needing one.We finished the day with a stop at Trenchers for fish and chips, which felt like the only acceptable way to conclude such a thoroughly British adventure. Crispy fish, chips, and a very happy couple.Greg was knowledgeable, personable, funny, and genuinely enjoyable to spend the day with. He didn’t just show us the sights — he gave us a glimpse into the places he clearly loves.Highly recommend Greg if you want to see this beautiful part of Yorkshire with someone who knows it inside and out — and who apparently has excellent ice cream instincts. 🍋🍦Thanks for a fantastic day, Greg!
