Fantastic trip - the guide was so knowledgable - beautiful scenery

This tour with the delightful Delores, gave a truly unforgettable experience, as we walked the streets of ghostly York, we heard stories of ghosts, death and all round hauntism!! And as we learnt of some of Yorks finest spirits I shuddered as 'Sarah' walked behind me!! This was our first day in this fine city and so glad we ended it with this tour, Delores was very informative and humourous and engaging and professional!! 10 out of 10 and highly recommended.

Had a delightful day with our knowledgeable and entertaining guide, Trevor of Mountain Goat Tours. We left York at 9am and returned at 5:30pm making it a full day of sights. Our only issue was the lack of clear instructions on exactly where to find the meeting point. Fortunately, our Uber driver was able to help.

This is the 2nd time I have been on this tour, with a different group of friends, different guide this time (Phil Graves) and he was just as good as the first one (John Doe). Very informative, very funny and definitely worth a go. Very atmospheric with moody music and lighting. You get off the bus near the Shambles and walk up a bit for some stories (weather permitting I guess). Top Tips: Sit upstairs - you get a better view. Catch the 6pm bus - if you go before that, the shambles shops are open and it is RAMMED with tourists, the 6pm bus is just right - you can still see the sights but the crowds are gone.

Highly recommend! Spooky, mysterious, tongue in cheek and highly entertaining. Dalton our guide was incredible and couldn’t recommend them more!! Best ghost tour in York!

Lots of ghost options in York. This one fulfilled our expectations. Witty and with interesting history. Busy and dark streets so you need to be able to keep up to a brisk walking pace.

Super experience presented the excellent, entertaining and thoroughly engaging Mad Alice! Wonderful and insightful history of the gruesome side of York.

Its an experience that will give you good facts an belly laughs. Best time will be when it starts getting dark

Wow! Was dreading this a bit due to a back issue and wasn’t sure if my back would cope with the movement. How wrong was I , Nicky our bus driver drove the bus with such care, she was polite, friendly and humorous. Steve the tour guide was so knowledgeable, funny and made our time on the bus unforgettable. I can’t recommend them and the company enough. You can also download an app to see when the next bus is due for your hop on, hop off experience, a fab way to tour York.

Absolutely fantastic tour we travelled down to York just to do this tour and so glad we did. Outstanding tour don’t know how mad Alice does to remember everyone’s names made time to talk to everyone and include everyone. Great tour, informative and relaxing offering good insite into history of york. Very good value for money. Lots to see that you wouldnt see judt walking around. Tip- if you have a blue light card you get a great discount. Would highly recommend.

Of 20 years of ghost walks etc, this was hands down, the most captivating, interesting, funny, educational and romantic walk I've ever experienced. What started as a bit of fun, became a truly wonderful evening of story telling. Ragnell Hagathawn is charismatic, wholesome, funny (Mrs Doubtfire vibes) and just brings the energy. Absolutely so highly recommend!

Excellent tour, got to see some places we perhaps wouldn’t have gone to normally, but are now on our list of places we would go back to. The steam train to Whitby goes through some extremely scenic countryside and was in itself a good experience.. Greg was an excellent guide and the small group made it easy to have ‘one to one’ chats. Can highly recommend.

The whole start to end was amazing!! I took my teenager 13 for the first time who loves history and loves the stories behind it and he had the best time ever!! I laughed all the way through and a few screams.

We had a wonderful experience on the York Hop-On Hop-Off Bus! It’s such a great way to see the city and take in all the main sights without having to worry about navigating or walking everywhere.The commentary was interesting and informative, giving us a great insight into York’s history and landmarks. Being able to hop on and off at different stops made it really easy to explore at our own pace.I also have to mention the wonderful customer service. I had booked my ticket online but, when I arrived, I couldn’t find it anywhere on my phone. The young gentleman working on the bus was incredibly helpful, patient and kind while he tried to assist me. I did eventually manage to find my ticket, but I really appreciated how helpful and understanding he was — it made the whole experience even more enjoyable.The bus was comfortable, convenient and a lovely way to see York. I’d definitely recommend the Hop-On Hop-Off Bus to anyone visiting, especially if it’s your first time in the city. A fantastic way to see the sights, learn about York’s history and explore at your own pace.
