Pico 2026 Calendar of Events

Our experience with Oh My Cod, and with our guide Sylvia, was stellar! We learned so much and Sylvia went above and beyond to ensure our experience was fantastic. For example, I off-handedly mentioned that we hadn’t yet tasted limpets and she called ahead to the restaurant and asked that they be included in our tasting. She introduced us to Paolo, the owner of Insulus Vinus (a wonderful winery on Pico) , who was gracious and shared all of his delicious wine. A very heartfelt “Thank You” to Sylvia and Oh My Cod!

Kevin was a really lovely knowledgeable guide, and happy to tailor the trip to our interests. He provided a great picnic lunch of local cheeses and wine with homegrown tomatoes and homemade chocolate mousse - exceptional. A terrific day out.

Matteo en Bruno did a very good job guiding the 17 of us, they know what they're doing and how to motivatie people and make them feel at ease, would definitely recommend them!

Amateur friendly, not to expensive, the guide take her/his time to explain the mountain as you climb it

Absolutely brilliant trip. The staff are friendly but very knowledgeable and professional. Check in and safety briefing very good. The boat staff worked hard to get us to see as many species as was possible even right up the the last minute of the trip, chasing off to see a new species of dolphin. We saw plenty of sperm whales, common, bottlenose and spotted dolphin. Perfect, thankyou again.

Filipe was an incredible guide for our tour around Pico. We flew over from Ponta Delgado for the day so that we could experience the relatively untouched island. We met Filipe at the marina terminal. He was very knowledgeable and great to talk to on the ride from place to place. The lunch was an authentic sample of Azorian dishes and it was delicious. Because of this experience we plan on returning to Pico to relax for a few days in the future. Highly recommend this tour.

An amazing tour with some amazing views. Make sure to wear sneakers because you explore some caves. You take a break overlooking the ocean with delicious cheese and one of the best homemade jams I’ve ever had. Would highly recommend!

Our family of six had the best time with Sylvia! She really tailored the trip to our interests and the kids loved the whole experience. Mom and dad loved being able to taste some yummy wine! Win-win!

What a wonderful tour of Pico! Even though our hotel was almost an hour away from the starting point, for a little extra money, Kevin picked us up in Madalena and the fun began!When they say you can experience all four seasons in one day, we sure did! But that didn’t deter Kevin one bit. He made sure we saw everything we wanted to, and should see on the island! We even went back to a few places to make sure we saw them when the clouds cleared.The entire day was perfectly paced, enjoyable (despite having to dry out from a heavy rain) and incredibly informative. Kevin knew the island so well and was able to answer all our questions. He also has a great sense of humor and was the perfect guide for us!Lunch was delicious, and mostly homegrown. The tomatoes were quite tasty!Private tours may cost a little extra, but they are well worth it! You see so much more and get to know your guide and the local culture so much better.Thanks, Kevin for an unforgettable day!

Very good experience, the guide and boat captain did everything to let us see as many animals as possible, very friendly, they collected abandoned fishing gear along the way. It was excellent, we recommend!
