I actually really enjoyed this day adventure! I was a solo traveler who drove there (I was staying at an AirBnB, so I’m going to give some pointers to others who might be in a similar position). I usually avoid tourist places, but I surprisingly really enjoyed this excursion! Please note that this is for the beach day. I thought it was for the dolphin swim, but it’s the pass to enjoy a day at Blue Lagoon. It worked out fine for me bc you’re still able to watch the animals and the dolphins will swim right by you and all.I recommend the 8am trip if you can make it because it’s less crowded and you can find plenty of seating and have the ocean to yourself before the large crowds arrive. You depart about 8ish, but it’s really like 8:30am. They said to arrive at 7am to the docks and I was so stressed to get there, but I had more than enough time and I ended up sitting. So don’t stress! You’ll return about 1ish. I found that to be enough time but I’m an adult so for families and kids it might not be. I thought it was fun!Getting there
* Cross the bridge and then after you pay the toll, veer to the right. There’s a public parking garage behind the Scotia Bank and Dunk n Donuts. It’s a garage and you’ll see blue parking signs to public parking. I was literally the only one parked there and when I arrived back about 1, there were only a few cars. I think it was about $15 and you just pay to get out of the garage at the kiosk.* Walk to the terminal about 100 yards away located back over near where you pay the toll. It’s right on the corner. I thought the terminal would have all these boats and I’d be searching for my trip, but Dolphins Encounters is the business. They have plenty of people there to show you the way.* Once arriving at Blue Lagoon, get you a chair. If you do the 8am, you’ll have more than plenty of choices. Take time to walk and see the animals and explore the island and dip in the aqua blue water. It’s so pretty!* One pro tip is to eat as early as possible. I ate about 11am and it was perfect. When I saw the line around 1, it was super long. As others have said, it’s basic food you’d eat at the water park in the states, but I was just happy to be there! It’s a privilege to enjoy these places that many people on earth will never see. I try to always keep my focus right and I was happy! There was plenty of food! I had a cheeseburger with all the fixings and fries and bbq chicken. You may as well get what you can and eat the lunch throughout the day bc it’s super expensive to buy anything there.* Some people said they check your bag for food and drinks but they never checked our boat. So I’m not sure if it varies. I’d say pack some light snacks if you can. Beers were $9/10 and mixed drinks were $16.50.* One pro tip is to check out the beach area directly behind the main beach area. There are like 50 seats back there, some rocky areas to explore, a lifeguard and barely anyone else. If you want peace and solitude that would be a great option.* The kid park area looked like fun. Again, keep your expectations bc it’s an island with many people enjoying the time. But if I was a kid, I would have thought the play area and the inflatables were really cool. Is it worth paying hundreds of dollars for your family? I think Cable Beach next to Sandals and even Cabbage Beach has just as beautiful places. But if you’re going for an experience and to see the animals, this was really fun.* There are fancy seats you can rent that were more bougie and covered and padded, but I think the regular seats for the common peasants were just as great! I loved walking around too. The bathrooms were all clean and nice.* They will tell you when to board and leave. All in all, it went very smoothly. Now it does get really crowded with the afternoon crowds, so get as early as possible. Goodman’s Bay is also an excellent option for families who want to save money and there’s lots of activities! I did two weeks in Nassau solo and these were my favorites.I think my Blue Lagoon day was my favorite beach day on my trip. There’s great people watching too and the dolphins are so precious! You’ll be able to walk the docks and see all the animals. The sea lions are in the very back.Have a blast!
