Our three surf spots in Arrifana, Amoreira and Monte Clerigo in Portugal offer the best conditions for surfing in the Algarve at every level.

Amazing instructors
Our experienced and certified instructors with an ISA or FPS license will coach you and ensure you a great time on the water.

Surf Theory
At the beginning of the surf course, you will get to know the characteristics of the waves, currents and tides. Your surf instructor will also tell you the basics about the surf equipment.

Our surf school is equipped with easy-to-use soft boards, which ensure the necessary safety on the water. The long and comfortable neoprene suits from Ocean and Earth offer you the best possible freedom of movement and keep you warm in the water for a while.

What To Expect

Our team of certified, experienced, and multilingual surf instructors will introduce you to the basics of surfing using specialized surfboards and equipment at our surf school in the Algarve, located in the southern region of Portugal.

We tailor your experience by taking you to surf beaches that match your skill level, including famous spots like Arrifana, Monte Clérigo, or Amoreira. The exact beach will be announced the day before your lesson, as we consider your skill level and the wind and wave conditions.

During your approximately 2-hour lesson, you'll learn about waves, currents, tides, and equipment, as well as how to paddle and handle the surfboard correctly in the water. The whole trip takes around 4-5h (includes the drive to the surf beach). You'll always remember the thrill of catching your first wave and taking off into your new passion for surfing!

Please note that the lesson timings are subject to change. We will confirm the exact meeting time the day before your lesson, typically around 18:00. If you haven't heard from us by 20:00, please call us at +351 960 460 800.

  • Cool Rewards is a loyalty program operated by Cool Destinations. Rewards may be earned by any eligible person holding a Cool Destinations account, subject to the Cool Destinations customer Terms of Use.

Earning rewards

  • Rewards can be earned by making bookings on the Cool Destinations website. You will be able to see the value of the rewards you can earn during the booking process.
  • Earned rewards will be issued in a pending state and will move to a confirmed state 24 hours after the start time of the experience.
  • Earned rewards will be available to redeem once they are no longer in a pending state.
  • For bookings that are moved to a different travel date, the rewards will be redeemable after the amended travel date.
  • If a booking where rewards were issued is canceled, the earned rewards will not be redeemable and will be moved to a canceled state.

Redeeming rewards

  • To redeem rewards, you must be logged into your Cool Destinations account.
  • Any available rewards will be automatically applied the next time you make a booking, and their value will be deducted from your order at checkout, unless you choose not to apply them, which requires you to indicate this via the toggle switch. Bookings made using rewards are subject to the standard Cool Destinations Customer Terms of Use.
