What To Expect
Local host Nell welcomes you into her beautiful 200-year-old home in Edinburgh's Georgian New Town to immerse yourself in traditional Scottish hospitality. Learn to cook traditional Scottish classics and enjoy a delicious dinner after the class.
Start the evening with an introductory chat about Scottish cooking while you enjoy homemade cheese oatcakes and Edinburgh-distilled Rhubarb and Ginger Liqueur. You’ll get the chance to learn how to cook a traditional Scottish soup - Cullen Skink (smoked haddock, leeks, potato, and cream) and make your own delicious all-butter Scottish shortbread to take home.
You’ll have the opportunity to relax in Nell’s elegant living room and while she brings you a plate of Scottish haggis - meat or vegetarian served with creamy mashed potatoes and turnip - a Scottish dish you must try whilst in Edinburgh!
Sip on a dram of whisky, whilst the host recites the famous Scottish poem by Robert Burns - Ode to a haggis- and we'll toast our national dish. End the evening indulging in your shortbread creations with tea or coffee, and bring the rest of your shortbread home in a tartan-wrapped goodie bag!
