We cannot begin to describe the magical, laughter filled experience we had during our 3 Day Isle of Skye tour with the phenomenal tour guide John G. We got so lucky that our original guide “Tom” changed at the last minute and we were blessed with the knowledgeable historical story-telling John. From the beginning, he set the tone with stories about both the history and landscape that make this beautiful country a place to discover! John worked with our family to create a daily itinerary so we could see and experience as much as possible! The benefit of a private tour is that we could spend more time in areas we were interested in and skip those that we had no desire to see. If you have a choice, please consider The Hairy Coo tours…and request John G! He made our time in The Highlands our most memorable Scotland experience! 5+ out of 5 stars!

Absolutely loved our 3 day tour with Scott! I’ve done a similar tour years ago, so I had something to compare it to, and I really appreciated the flow of this tour. Lots of stops for photos, bathrooms, coffee/snacks, so it never felt like we were on the bus too long, but even the longer stretches of driving were lovely with the amazing views and great commentary from our driver. I feel like we had the perfect amount of time at each stop to explore, we never felt rushed but it also wasn’t dragged out.Scott was an amazing guide! He mentioned he’s been touring for 19 years now, and his experience and breadth of knowledge was very clear! I never heard a question asked he didn’t know the answer to, and he’d pivot between history, legends, geology, current affairs, local plants and animals, etc. with ease.I feel like we got all the highlights of Isle of Skye, plus a few lesser known spots thanks to Scott’s knowledge, so while it was a packed 3 days it was time well spent, and I definitely feel like the tour was well worth the money. I also appreciated the ease of booking, they handled the accommodations reservations, which was a very nice B&B in Portree. I’d be up for doing this exact tour again one day, or any tour guided by Scott. 5 stars all around!

We had an Wonderfull tour to Islay. Startet very early from Edinburgh and first stop was Loch Lomond, it was rainy and grey, but we could see most of the beautiful nature, but on our way back we were blessed with sunshine! We have visited all the main distilleries on Islay, and every visit had its own charm, the most exciting was our visit to Bruichladdich, where we got to taste the whisky straight from the cask! We stayed in Bowmore all the time and our well spoken, and humorous guide Mourray was very precise and always checking out that we were well taken care of. This was a birthday present from me to my two sons and myself and we will never forget it. If you like peated whisky, this tour is a must!

Our driver and guide, Dougie, was a delightfully enthusiastic fountain of humor, local knowledge, Scottish history, and wee helpful tips that enhanced our trip. I truly miss his silliness. The beautiful Scottish countryside is not to be missed - there’s nothing like it. We’ve had several great experiences with Cool Destinations… I highly recommend them.

Amazing tour. Highly recommend! Our small group tour departed from Edinburgh near Haymarket, a very convenient location. Our tour guide, Joe was very friendly, knowledgeable and you can tell he really enjoys what he does. The Airbnb that was set up for us was lovely and an easy walk into Portree. The places we visited were stunning! I highly recommend Scotland's Wild Tour to Isle of Skye!

Everything about this was well organised and well executed. The bed and breakfast was great, the distillery tours were perfect and there were genuine bargains to be had.Moray, our tour guide was that perfect blend of local knowledge, irreverent humour, and just a great bloke.We would do it again next time we are in Scotland. Highly recommended.

Lizzie was fabulous! Not only did she have great stories to tell about all the wonderful places she took us, she had this incredible ability to maneuver the windy, sometimes very narrow roads while doing so. Sometimes she even had to back down the narrow hilly roads to allow others though without missing a beat! On the Isle of Skye we stayed at the Woodside B and B. It was cozy and warm. Would stay there again for sure. No tour would be complete without the Hairy Coos! We saw them!! All and all I wouldn't change a thing. I was almost sad it was over.

Rich is the best tourguide in Scotland!
Our guide Rich is super friendly and knowledgeable (and he has impressive driving skills). I wasn’t that talkative and he started to call me Ma’am haha but you can see how respectful and considerate he is to us. My stream train experience was delayed and unfortunately I was unable to hop on the train due to the tour’s time constraints. However, Rich provided the fastest and clearest instructions as he could. The comany also sent us an email on same day regarding the issue.The itinerary that was sent to me before the trip was unclear. I think it is better to include the stops that we will be staying and the estimated travel time between each stops.The third day was a bit of a rush with a lot of driving time. Would be nice if we could put some stops from day 1 to day 3.Gathering could be improved too. We were standing at High Street for 20 minutes with the rubbish truck cleaning the streets just beside us.Overall, it is an amazing tour and I am glad that I joined this! Thanks so much Rich!
