Top Oaxaca Horseback Riding

The highlight of our trip! Unique, beautiful and exciting experience with professional and wonderful guide. I was nervous to ride a horse as a beginner but the horses were very well trained and easy to ride. Definitely recommend this activity for anyone coming to Puerto Escondido!

The tour was one of the highlights for our family during our visit to Oaxaca and Puerto Escondido. They picked us up from the house we were staying at and drove us to meet our horses and riders. Rode the horses for about 30 min in some farmlands before a small river where we took a small boat to the other side while our horses swam across. Then reached a huge empty beach with incredible waves while we rode the horses to a large lagoon. On the way back we stopped at a small cafe where we could order food and drinks before making our way back. Whole trip was about 4 hours, however likely shorter if you are staying closer to Puerto Escondido (our house was about 30 min away from the city). Highly recommend doing it in the early morning when the sun/heat isn't too oppressive. They were great with communication via WhatsApp and were able to change our times without problems.

We were picked up from our hotel and drove about 30 minutes to the horses. We were introduced to our guides who accompanied us. We road the horses through a country road, to a river where the horses swam across and then to the ocean side. We took the most peaceful ride on the beach. We then took a refreshment break before riding back.

The guide was very friendly, and knowledgeable. He spoke very little english. The horses are well taken care of and really well trained. Thoroughly enjoyed this tour!! Crossed the Copalita River twice and rode on Bocana Beach. Highly recommend.

What a wonderful experience!! Incredibly beautiful tour through nature; past palm trees, along lagoons, through rivers, along the beach. WAUW! We are upside down about this tour. Is definitely pricey but worth it. What a beautiful location this was! The horses are well cared for and the guide is super friendly.

This is a fantastic tour and Juan Carlos was a great guide. We started out on the horses walking and trotting through some agricultural land and ended up at the beach, where we galloped in the sand (optional), stopped for a cold drink and to rest the horses, saw the sunset, and rode back to the starting point, all in about 4-5 hours. The horses were docile and easy to ride, and one person in our group had had no riding experience at all and did fine. Probably the high point of our stay in Puerto Escondido. Juan Carlos was super sweet and made sure we were always having a good time. Highly recommend.

Horses well trained,, well taken care of. You dont ride tail to nose. Horses go where you want to go. Guide Spanish but very kind. Loved it!!

Wonderful experience, walking through the jungle field, then coming out on the beautiful beach. Tour guide was very patient and they were very knowledgeable about the horses. Had a nice time on the beach for a nice break between the ride to and from. Even though pictures show people and horses in the water, you don’t really go in the water so you can dress accordingly. The trail ride lets you take in all of the scenery as you’re walking through the beautiful areas.

Relaxing and beautiful horseback ride, I would make sure to use a mosquito spray before hand even though our guide did offer us some, our guides were very helpful

Had such a wonderful time! Great horses and guides. The farm is really cute too! Saw some baby horses and pigs 🥰 definitely recommend!

Horse back riding tour with Eco Adventures and our driver/guide Mario was amazing!! We had an incredible time. Beautiful countryside; mountains in the background and of course the beach! Jairo was also very helpful and his family's horses are so sweet. It was a real adventure to remember! Highly recommend!

This was one of our favorite things we did in Porto Escondido. This excursion is only for those who want the real Mexican Cowboy experience with Cervezas on the beach. The scenery was beautiful ridding threw the cooperative ranch and then down onto the beach. Side note: You will actually ride horses for an extensive period of time. The tour guide Efraine was very helpful and had a lot of general knowledge about the area. He took photos for free and sent them to us via “What’s App”. I would highly recommend this while visiting Perto Escondido.
