Our trip started out rocky. The airline had a mechanical issue. We where delayed by a day. Troll did a great job of accommodating our changes. Our guide was really helpful. He knew history of the island and stories. Max is a huge asset to your company. Your lucky to have someone who goes above and beyond to help your experience in Iceland everything it could be and more!

We did this tour with Andy, such a nice, professional and kind guy, since he lived in Iceland for 30 years, he know everywhere, including the name of glacier and those good places, and he is always happy to share info. The best guide I have ever met!

Birthday trip to Iceland for my daughter. We were referred by a family member who used them before. I’m glad we did because we had a great experience! Gulli was an excellent driver, tour guide, and host. He was very knowledgeable and made sure we got all the stops in. Breathtaking beautiful places that we visited the past couple days. We’re from Hawaii so this was definitely on our bucket list. The hotel we stayed at was so cozy and comfortable. Breakfast was included which was a plus. We booked the 3 day tour, but got transferred with another tour guide the 3rd day. If your planning on going to Iceland I definitely recommend this tour. Thank-you again Gulli!

I have just returned from this tour. (19 Sept) Never done a multi day trip before, so was slightly apprehensive as what to expect. However, it was fabulous. The small numbers made it more enjoyable, it was well organised, and there were so many stops to see sights & the ice cave & hike were great fun. Don’t get put off by the word hike. It was a walk up a hillside for 45/60 mins to view a waterfall and then down the other side. I would highly recommend the trip. I thought the hotel was very good too. Beautiful location & view. Clean and had all you needed for a short stay (apart from shampoo & conditioner!). It was a great way to explore the Golden Circle and South Coast and I would definitely recommend Artic Adventures and this trip.

Branimir was an excellent guide for our 2-day South Coast tour. He was energetic, attentive, knowledgeable, and made sure everyone was comfortable and having a great time throughout the trip. He kept the group engaged, gave clear instructions, and brought a lot of positive energy to the experience. You could tell he genuinely cared about making the tour memorable. I had a wonderful time and would absolutely recommend touring with Branimir!

Our guide, Casper truly made this once and a lifetime trip for me so memorable, magical and completely unforgettable. His knowledge of everything Iceland was amazing and I truly feel I learned a lot about your country from Casper alone. We all want to come back for another trip to Iceland (2.0) and we want to have Casper show us the other side of Iceland. Hopefully we can make that happen in a couple years.

Cost was about $2600/person for an 8-day driving tour around Iceland in September 2026. Some general thoughts: Download WhatsApp as it was used to share information among the group. Weather changes rapidly; recommend layers and waterproof top and bottom as most of the sites are outside and short walks, e.g. waterfalls (we rented tops and bottoms from Troll; they worked very well but they are just a shell to keep you dry and are not insulated). Pick-up on day 1 was on-time. Tour days begin at about 8:30a and end at about 5p each day. Plenty of bathroom stops (longest gap was a little more than 2 hrs), but some places charge for bathroom access ($2-3, you can use a credit card). Hotels are clean and what we would consider to be a 3-star on a 5-star scale (note: it did not appear there were a lot of luxury hotels outside of Reykjavik). Double rooms have individual twin beds, shower space is tight. Rooms can be warm even if you open a window vent each room has (although the rooms are warm, the also beds have heavy comforters). Breakfast was included each day, all other meals were on your own; we never had a bad meal at the recommended restaurants but, wow, meals (and everything else in Iceland) are expensive, e.g., before the tour started we had a basic breakfast of bacon and eggs with coffee and a pastry; it was $80+. It is hard to do a sit-down dinner for 2 people for less than $100 in Iceland. No tipping in Iceland at restaurants. Our tour was about 18 people (all adults over 40, most from the US), and we had about an 18-passenger van. It was cozy but comfortable (we had a good group and changed seats each day to allow everyone the chance to sit closer up). Note the overhead compartment in the van is quite small, possibly too small for even a backpack. Walks on the tour were quite easy. The glacier walk excursion could be a challenge for some (heights/difficult terrain/uneven or tall steps). The sights were visited were beautiful. We had several stops each day to see glaciers, waterfalls, small towns and other scenery. With the good weather we even went to some locations known to our guide but not normally on the tour. On two nights we had wonderful views of the Northern lights. Some lunch stops along the route were at a food court/rest stops along the route, but the food was not bad. Good vegetarian options at most places, hardest at the food court/rest stop locations. Our guide was Thor, a native Icelander, and we were quite fortunate to have him. In addition to being a tour guide and expert on Iceland geography and Viking lore, he’s a search and rescue expert which was lucky when one of the tour members fell onto some rocks and needed medical care. Thor was able to get him to medical care, and back on the tour within 2 hrs. Thor was quite engaging with the group, creating early relationships with each of us and accommodating requests as best he could. It is noted Thor was a one-man show the entire week – driver, tour guide, luggage handler, reservation maker and all other roles. One kind suggestion for Thor might be to expand on some his answers, i.e., more than a “yes” or “no,” but we are also guessing that when some questions were asked he may have had a lot on his mind as we drove as he was doing several things at once. Although there is no restaurant tipping, we did express our appreciation to Thor at the end of the tour. Big questions: 1) Would we use Troll tour company again? Yes. 2) Was the tour worth the cost? Yes, we think so. 3) Anything to be aware of? This is an outdoor tour, make sure you know what the weather can be in Iceland (even in summer) and dress properly for it. Appropriate clothing = a fun week. Improper clothing could = a wet, cold, miserable week.

We had a fantastic experience on this six-day tour and would highly recommend it. Our guide, Sindri, was exceptional. He had a warm, fun personality, was extremely knowledgeable, and kept the entire trip relaxed and stress-free. He was also genuinely enjoyable to chat with and brought such a positive energy to the experience.The minibus was new, clean, and comfortable. There were 17 people in our group, but everyone had enough room for the drives. The bus had reliable Wi-Fi, charging ports at every seat, and plenty of luggage space. We generally spent around 2.5–4 hours driving each day, broken up by numerous stops. The pace was very well balanced, allowing us to see and experience a great deal without ever feeling rushed.The included ice cave, glacier hike, and whale-watching excursion were all unique and fantastic experiences. The glacier-lagoon boat tour was an optional add-on, but once everyone saw the beautiful bay filled with icebergs, nearly the entire group decided to do it, and it was absolutely worthwhile.The hotels were good overall, although the quality varied somewhat from night to night. A few felt closer to a 3.5–4 out of 5, while others were easily 4.5 or better, but we were always comfortable. Breakfasts also varied, but there was consistently plenty of good food. Most offered a standard European-style breakfast with meats, cheeses, yogurt, bread, coffee, and juice, while a few also had waffles or eggs.I traveled with my 72-year-old father, who uses a cane, and he greatly enjoyed the trip. He was able to participate in most activities, although he skipped the more strenuous glacier hike. At a few stops, he was happy to enjoy the scenery from near the road rather than walk farther along the dirt paths.Overall, this was an outstanding way to see and learn about Iceland. We experienced an incredible amount in six days without feeling rushed, and Sindri played a huge role in making the trip so memorable. We would enthusiastically recommend both the tour and Sindri.

Amazing tour. The stops were fantastic, we were not rushed. There were plenty of breaks throughout. We loved the adventure hotel. It was clean, beds were comfortable. The food was great, the breakfast buffet had lots of choice. Would highly recommend

Absolutely fantastic trip. Loads of variety, new experiences and sights. Our guide, Bart, was brilliant, knowledgeable and with a great sense of humour. Good hotels too. Saw loads; very different beaches, lovely waterfalls, icebergs, seals on icebergs (great photo opportunities), etc, etc. Would definitely recommend NiceTravel
