Top French Polynesia Archaeology Tours

Fabrice is very knowledgeable, patient, and friendly. He spent much more time with us than described. He also dropped us off at the airport, even though he doesn’t have to. He ais also very earnest.

Excellent tour that we travelled around the whole islands in 5 hrs and made many great stops. Highly recommend our tour guide, Vetea. He is very informative and friendly. This is small group of 6. Better than the cruise ship tour with Big bus. In fact, I am the only one not from cruise ship.

A good halfday doing Moorea with beautiful views, vanilla factory, tasting of pineapple with various alcoholic combos, and not least a knowledgeable guide that told us a lot about the culture and history of Moorea.

It was an incredible experience done by a local that knew a lot about their culture, traditions, and also the best spots . For all of you that say “ I only book with the cruise ship because they warranty you their return on time “ let me tell you that he was super careful about the time . We used Cool Destinations through the whole Pacific and had an incredible experience and we were never late . At the end of this tour we saw a lot more than other people that used NCL excursions. The view on top of that mountain was the best I have ever seen !

Amazing tour! Would highly recommend in lieu of renting a car. Super knowledgeable driver who spoke fluent English. Stopped and each spot and had extensive historical knowledge of each sight. Amazing company and comfortable van travel! A++++

What a wonderful way to spend the day in Tahiti! We had a prompt pickup at our hotel, and our guide, Antonette, was ready to go. We set off to tour the beautiful island of Tahiti, driving the entire circumference of the island. Antonette was absolutely amazing. Along the way, we visited a sacred Marae burial site, the breathtaking Black Sand Beach, the Botanical Gardens, the Grottes de Mara’a, and several beautiful waterfalls. At every stop, Antonette provided us with excellent and interesting narratives about the history, culture, and natural beauty of Tahiti. Her knowledge and enthusiasm made the entire experience even more enjoyable. It was a fantastic day filled with beautiful sights and wonderful memories. We highly recommend this tour and Antonette as a guide. You will not be disappointed!

With Tema, we got to know the island from a very special side. Thank you for the private insights and the hospitality.

We had a great time with our guide who took us through the iconic sites of Bora Bora, sharing the legends and historical facts he learned from his family and friends! Beautiful tour and very interesting, I recommend it! It was a bit gray, and this was the perfect activity for that kind of weather.

We travel a lot, and we book a lot of tours, most often they are private customizable tours. Seldom do I give five stars, but this driver with this company and the wonderful day she provided is well deserving of the highest rating possible. The owner/boss, Fabrice, was quick to respond to all communications and answered questions when asked. Antoinette met us at the pier, just as promised. What an amazing woman. She took us to ancient burial sites and beautiful botanical gardens. We fed fish and eels and viewed a beautiful small waterfall and grotto. We went to Teahupo'o, a super tall waterfall and to Point Venus. We had plenty of time for shopping and even a quick pull-off to grab some chocolate. She shared the history of the island and the people and even information about her family. Antoinette is the real deal and knows her stuff; she is a walking history book. But, she has a witty sense of humor that can keep you laughing for hours. I hope you have as much fun as we did!

Tohivea was truly one of a kind. This wasn’t just a sightseeing tour – it was a genuine connection with someone who has deep family roots in French Polynesia and a real pride in sharing his island with visitors. We started near the dock and he immediately surprised us with a stop to see nurse sharks – something we hadn’t encountered on any of our other tours in the area. From there, he took us around the entire island, weaving in stories about the land, the people, and his own life growing up on Moorea. He shared about his family, his experiences, and what life on the island is really like, which gave the tour a warmth and authenticity you simply can’t get from a guidebook. What also stood out was his thoughtful perspective on tourism – he spoke openly about how important it is to the island’s economy, how dependent the local community is on visitors, and even drew connections between the Moorea economy and broader American economic trends. It was eye-opening and made us feel more connected to the place and its people. He stopped to take our pictures, made us feel completely welcome, and never made the tour feel transactional. Everyone we encountered felt the same way – warm, welcoming, and genuinely happy to have us there. If you want to truly understand Moorea beyond its stunning scenery, Tohivea is your guide. Highly recommend without reservation.

Excellent 5 hr tour of Papeete nui. Waterfalls, black sand beach, temples, historic venues. Nice tour guide who dealt with pouring rain, and road accidents and still we saw in comfort

Very knowledgeable guide, interesting tour and a good range of stops and time spent at each one. Highly recommended.

Great tour with an amazing guide who takes you into the world of Moorea. It was really very comprehensive, both visually and in what we learned. A very beautiful experience that we recommend.

Great tour! We saw so much in 4-5 hours yet we did not feel rushed at all! Our tour guide was so funny and we learned a lot. He easily handled communicating with both the English speakers and the French speakers. We thoroughly enjoyed this tour!

The tour was very informative and helpful. He knew the Island and went out of his way to help us. (Went out of his way to take us to an ATM! We would definitely recommend.

A fantastic tour around Tahiti . Fabrice had great communication from booking to meeting and was so knowledgeable about everything regarding Tahiti and the region throughout our tour . During the tour we stopped off at many quite stunning places and it was at a very pleasant un rushed pace. I would highly recommend this to anyone visiting this beautiful island. Thank you for a very memorable day
