We were on a 3-day round trip from Lisbon to Porto in early September of 2026 and we had a great time. Marta is an excellent and pleasant tour guide with a lot of experience. She gave us good advice and suggestions for restaurants and points of interest. She’s very reliable and flexible on travel itineraries also. We definitely will recommend her and the company to our friends and family.

The Algarve was a beautiful surprise. The coastline, cliffs, and beaches were amazing, and the two-day format gave us enough time to enjoy everything without rushing.

Honestly beat taking the train hands down. Driver was right at our hotel door at 8 AM sharp, car was fresh and ice-cold AC (much needed in July heat!). The drive up to Douro is a bit long, but the views once you hit the river make you forget all about it. Porto drop-off was super smooth too.

From the moment we met him, he was incredibly welcoming, friendly, and professional. His bus was impeccably clean, he spoke excellent English, and he made the arrival process seamless. He drove us directly to our hotel, helped with our luggage, waited while we checked in, and made sure we had time to settle into our room and grab lunch.Over our two days in Lisbon, Ruben brought the city’s history to life. We visited beautiful churches, historic landmarks, castles, and breathtaking viewpoints. He knew the stories, names, and dates behind everything we saw, but—more importantly—he explained it all in a way that genuinely engaged our kids and helped them appreciate how special Portugal’s history is. He even gave our youngest a piggyback ride up to a castle!After Lisbon, Ruben drove us to the Algarve, about a 2.5-hour journey. The Algarve is paradise on Earth, and Ruben made it even more memorable by taking us to beautiful, less-crowded spots, helping capture family photos, and continuing to share the history and local context that made every stop more meaningful. It was an absolute highlight of our trip.For our final stop, we stayed in Cascais and took a day trip to Sintra, where we explored spectacular castles, palaces, and the famous well. Ruben’s knowledge and enthusiasm never faded, and by the end of the trip, saying goodbye to both him and Sara felt like saying goodbye to extended family.What stood out most was that we never felt like just another group of tourists. As we got to know Sara and Ruben, it became clear that this level of care, hospitality, and pride is simply who they are. They love their country and feel a real responsibility to create magical experiences for the people they host.We cannot recommend Central Tours highly enough. Loved that we weren't rushed at all. We could stop for coffee whenever we wanted, and the guide took us to a really nice, quiet winery in Douro. Very comfortable car and smooth driving. Would definitely recommend!

Our guide Rui was a perfect balance of being punctual and informative and yet giving our group space to enjoy our time together. Planned many great options, but also allowed for change when needed (such as adding 2 passengers last minute!) His driving was also the best I experienced from a guide or driver. Ruben showed us exactly the perfect spots in The Algarve! Great guide and personal touch. There is so much to see in The Algarve, but Ruben knows exactly where to go--there are so many hidden spots and best views. He cares about the group and has a passion to show his native Portugal to all. To be able to get to The Algarve and do this 36 hour tour of everything was amazing. 2 day tour tailored to your desires. Very comfortable vehicle for transportation. We saw many beautiful places in the algarve. Our guide Rui was amazing. He was so kind and helpful and he was a great driver. He took us to many places we could not have found on our own and made the whole experience very enjoyable. Very thorough exploration of the south Portugal coast and the Algarve. We felt like we really got to explore all the areas we wanted to see, included some off the beaten path places which were so enjoyable. We loved this ares so much!
