This was an incredible and breathtaking experience. Miguel was a wonderful guide that quickly became our friend. He was patient, kind, funny, and very knowledgeable about the history and terrain of the places we visited. He took photos throughout our trip for us as well which was awesome. The trek can be a bit of a scramble at times but Miguel made it manageable with his great tips and tricks and a helping hand throughout the trip. I highly recommend closed toed shoes with good grip for this hike and so does Miguel! This was an unforgettable experience and I highly recommend anyone visiting the area do this experience with Miguel.

My son and I wanted to hike while visiting Portugal and decided to book a private guided exploration. It was a 10/10 hike! Miguel led us through beautiful trails overlooking pristine beaches, and led us down to a remote beach for a swim. The elevation was challenging and rewarding. Exactly what we were looking for. Miguel was the best guide, knowledgeable and so kind. It felt like we were hiking with a friend. I’d highly recommend!

It was a great experience. The guide was very friendly and helpful (Mario), we felt safe and challenged, with the climbing level personalised to our experience. The location is great with beautiful sea views.

Amazing, awesome 🤩 we love rock climbing now. The name of our coach was Mario, he's a young fella from Portugal, bilingual, his English was very good. He was calm and confident in the sport, he gave tips, taught us the basics and orientation all along each one of our climbs. We have never rock climbing before and we managed to reach the tops in all the 4 routes hes chosen for us. It was a perfect, challenging but safe adventure to enjoy with my youngest children, it was my 20 years old son and 17 daughter. But I've seen many groups in the area with younger children. We absolutely loved it! Thank you!

I had such a wonderful time hiking with Miguel. It was a bit technical at parts and luckily he provided a hiking stick which was very helpful. I was happy to have my hiking shoes! The views were absolutely stunning and he took the time to point out interesting parts of the ecosystem. We wound up at a gorgeous secluded beach towards the end, where I was able to relax and take a quick dip in the ocean. I highly recommend you book this experience - it was the absolute highlight of my trip! I’ve done a lot of hikes over the years and never would have been able to navigate this trail on my own - it was overgrown at parts and I didn’t see many markings. His expertise and knowledge of the terrain was essential. Don’t hesitate to book!!

Visiting Nazaré Portugal with my 17 yr old son and we were easily able to schedule online climbing for next day! Got the meeting spot and our Guide Mario was well prepared and fluent in English. We have moderate experience but Mario was essential to get us on great routes, provided all the gear and was a great companion. Thank you!

We climbed with Mario at Farol da Guia, a stunning setting for our first climbing experience in Portugal. Mario was extremely friendly and encouraging. We both have climbing experience and didn't require an overview of gear or climbing techniques, but I have no doubt he would also be well matched for a group without experience.We were picked up from the Cascais train station and dropped off after in town so we could experience the city centre. Mario has some recommendations for lunch spots in town.I recommend that the company provide more shoe size options for guests, as the fit of a climbing shoe is so important.

This was my favorite experience on my vacation to Portugal. Miguel was patient and knowledgeable. Doing a challenging hike with a family of non-hikers was intimidating at first, but Miguel helped to make us feel safe. The views are absolutely worth it. Would do again.

On a recent trip to Lisbon I wanted to do something different. I like to stay active when I travel and I thought a hike on the edge of Europe sounded fascinating. After booking the tour, Miguel reached out and offered me alternative dates because rain was expected for the original date. The date change worked out quite well.Miguel was friendly, energetic, knowledgeable, and very patient with our group. Our group consisted of an intimate group of 5 who were all at different athletic skill levels. Miguel did a great job of making everyone feel welcome and keeping up with everyone’s pace. Pick up and drop off were very prompt. I highly recommend this tour.

He also did a great job in keeping us engaged with the hike with his seemingly unlimited knowledge of the fauna and the surrounding areas. I definitely recommend being honest with your hiking abilities/experience and Miguel will Taylor the hike to what is comfortable for you. Also hiking shoes will be an absolute benefit if you have them. I thought my trusty sneakers has sufficient grip😕. Half way through the hike Miguel let me use his shoes! And he used mine and what a different hike I was on after that. Again highly recommend hiking shoes. Other tourist spots are always on the list for Lisbon but if you want an actual experience on your trip Volta adventures with Miguel is an awesome choice!
