Fabulous farm to table evening
Fabulous evening sampling delicious dishes (and the local rum drink Poncha) using home grown, fresh produce. So nice to see a Madeiran farm and learn about all the different fruit and veg, including wine making! Friendly hosts and beautiful setting in the hills. Amazing to see sunset whilst eating dinner. Highly recommend this experience to everyone.

Claudio is the perfect guide! We went on the ”Gastro hike” and did not really know what to expect. But Claudio turned it into the best experience EVER at Madeira. He is fun, flexibel, punctual, knowledgeable and the best guide you could wish for. The hike was pleasant and beautiful, the drinks and food excellent. All in all, the best experience we’ve had. Highly recommended!

Claudio was the most terrific guide you could think of. The hike was easy and beutiful, the food was excellent but what made the experience 10 out of 5 was the guide. So flexible, generous, knowledgeable (about everything!) and fun. Would not hesitate booking every day at Madeira under his guideance. This is a GEM and the best experience we’ve had at Madeira.

From market to kitchen to plate
Having hugely enjoyed their Food and Culture tour on our last visit we decided to try another and it didn't disappoint. Our excellent guide explained the history of Funchal's main fresh food market. We then walked around the various parts of the building itself - fruit, vegetable. meat and fish. This highlighted some of the main ingredients in the food we would later eat. We then sampled a range of local fruits. Proceeding to a local high end restaurant, we were treated to a range of specialities cooked in front of us. These excellent dishes were consumed with matching wines. An excellent half day tour. We'll happily try another of their tours on our next visit.

The culinary experience is sitting at The Chef's Table watching them cook. It was so much fun and the interaction was so joyful as they prepared our food as well as for the entire restaurant. Ana, our guide to was wonderful and informative. A great time!

We had a perfect day! Val is a great and knowledgeable person with a positive spirit! Definitely the best way to experience the island. We went for the East Tour and will 100% go with Val to the West next time. He showed us places we never would have been able to drive on our own. Nice places, great oceans views, no crowds, and nice little walking tours. Und, das Beste für uns, er spricht nicht nur Englisch, sondern auch sehr gut Deutsch 😁 Great Job, Val! Vielen Dank!

Five stars is not enough for this lovely experience
What a truly special experience to be invited by somebody into their home and have them cook for you in the midst of their beautiful farm overlooking an incredible city view! We are so incredibly thankful to Andreas and his team for making this a night we’ll fondly remember for years. The food and the drinks were superb, the atmosphere was stunning, and the company was lovely. We all left the evening with our bellies and hearts full. Definitely don’t miss this!

The warmest of welcomes was followed by a tour of the farm, and what an education it turned out to be. A family run farm that yealds to much from such a concentrated area. Then, the highlight, the food was outstanding but the company was better than anything we could have imagined. Drawn from across the globe, our conversation went into the night over exquisite wine and beautiful views. One on the best night's I have ever have 10/10 and I would give more in a heart beat. Do yourself a favour and book this!

Tour off the beaten path with a great local guide.
We had a really great tour. Claudio even drove us to the Picco do Arieiro viewpoint, since it was our first time staying on Madeira. The hike was beautiful. The best part was that it was off the beaten path. He was able to answer all our questions and gave us great tips for the rest of our stay. Afterward, we enjoyed a typical poncha before heading to the restaurant. The restaurant and the food were also excellently chosen, and we learned more about typical food and life on Madeira.

Highlight of our Madeira trip
Beautiful setting, wonderful hosts and delicious bread - what more could you want from an experience on holiday? We felt incredibly welcomed from the minute we arrived and it was a really lovely way to spend the morning. The steps to make the bread were clear and we got to try some tasty local snacks as well.I would highly recommend a visit and can't wait to replicate a bit of Madeira when I return home and make the recipe again

Most welcoming experience
We went to learn to make bolo do caco at Casa da Nati today and had a wonderful time. Everyone was very welcoming. We loved learning the Madeira way of making this bread and will take this teaching with us to British Columbia, Canada. The family was very welcoming. We felt right at home. I recommend this experience to everyone who comes to Madeira.
