Tulum Travel Guides (Updated September 2026)

This tour was a superb experience from start to finish!If you are worried about safety in Mexico, let this review put your mind at ease. Throughout the entire trip, I felt completely secure and never once felt like I was in any danger. The Tour Guide: Our guide was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and shared fascinating details about Mayan history and the local culture that brought every stop to life.The Itinerary: Visiting Chichén Itzá, cooling off at the stunning cenote, and stopping by Valladolid made for a packed but wonderfully organized day. Bonus: the food at the buffet near the cenote was genuinely delicious!The Transportation: A huge thank you to our bus driver, who navigated the roads smoothly and picked us up and dropped us back off at our hotel safely.I would 100% recommend this tour to anyone planning to visit these iconic spots. Cesar is amazing! Super knowledgeable and amazing presentation. You know that this man love his job. Would love to go on another tour with him again. Everything else was great. Pickup was seamless and felt well taken care of the entire time. Drive felt smooth and easily fell asleep. Itinerary was also very fun. Got to cool down in the cenote after a hot day at Chichen Itza and visit Valladolid. Highly recommend!

Great choice to experience multiple activities. We got to experience horseback riding, cenote, zip line and ATV. I really enjoyed it plus the shots!!

Great excursion and it was awesome

We were staying in Puerto Morales and we were picked up at 6:30 am. We were dropped back at our resort at 8:30 pm. It was a very long day! That being said, although extremely hot, chichen itza was amazing. Cesar was an excellent guide. He is very passionate and knowledgeable. Swimming in the cenote was so refreshing. Lunch was tasty. Tequila tasting was fun and educational.

Fantastic day, really knowledgeable and enthusiastic tour guide. Tulum was awesome to see and hear details of the mayan history. Swimming with the turtles was amazing. It was really amazing to see the turtles to be all relaxed and eating on the sea grass. The cenote was magical, and you can really understand why the mayans thought it was a portal to the underworld. The food was 10/10. We had a day we will never forget.

This exp was so fun! Our guide, Maria made sure we had a great time, enjoyed the open bar and all! Great time to snorkel and just float in the water. Also beautiful sites!!Highly recommend eating before and at the island, the food was the only thing we did not enjoy.

Great experience. Allowed us to meet at a central location to catch a ride from our Airbnb. All activities were about 30-40 mins each!So very timely. We had an also tour lead — we made it back home by 3pm.

Amazing tour with small group and top guides. We loved the fact that it was a contrast to the huge disney-land-like alternative "adventure parks around tulum, felt private and exclusive, small groups to avoid the usual overrun environment provided by the big parks. Loved the genuine eco-adventure vibe, respectful of the natural surroundings and the ecosystem in the park. Brilliant exlerience with almost wxclusive access to the stunning open and underground/cave cenotes. Knowlegable guides, lovely local cuisine lunch at the end of the trip to finalize a great authentic experience - many thanks, definite recommendation!

We did the cenote and lagoon tour on our honeymoon. It was around $180.00 for two of us. They do try to get you with a $40 per person photo fee. You can take photos at the lagoon but not the cenote. It was very enjoyable. Pickup was right on time and explained very thoroughly in the email. It was a smooth process. The van was comfortable and spacious. Fernando was sweet and a great driver. We picked up other passengers along the way. There was around 14 of us I believe. We ended up getting to Yal Ku. JJ was a wonderful tour guide explaining natural history and explaining the process of how to snorkel. He helped us spot a sting ray, eel, and many other creatures. We then went to the cenote, which was gorgeous. JJ made sure to explain everything and added humor throughout. It was overall a great experience. Recommend.

We had a great day trip to Tulum. The small 14 passenger van picked us up on time. The trip to Tulum including a few more hotel pick ups took about two hours. There was a midway stop at Adventures Cancun office where we could use the bathroom. The van had a cooler with water and snacks for us. We also picked up our tour guide Myriam there who was lovely. She was very informative on our tour of Tulum and was happy to answer any question the tour of Tulum took about one hour. I would highly recommend borrowing or bringing an umbrella. Single use plastic water bottles are not allowed in Tulum so bring a reusable, refillable bottle or you can buy one at the market there. It was very very very hot which was expected. We had some free time after the tour, which was nice. There are many shops, including coffee, ice cream, café, and a Subway right at the entrance of Tulum. Everyone wants to sell you something which is to be expected, but everyone is very nice and respectful. When we loaded back on the van they had cold bottles of water and a cold towel waiting for each of us, which was so thoughtful! We dropped Myriam off back at the office and everyone was dropped off at their respective hotels. We left at 7 AM and got back at 2 PM. Highly recommend this excursion!

The experience on this trip was amazing our tour guide was Ricardo and driver, Carlos. We have heard a lot about visiting Chichén Itza. It’s one of the 7 wonders of the world. I definitely don’t think you should do it on your own, and you definitely need to be with the right tour guide. Ricardo is very friendly, knowledgeable, and you can tell he is very passionate about what he does. He went over the history of the Mayas and the ruins and explained it a way that felt like you were there. His English is great also. By the end of the trip it felt bittersweet because it felt like we really made a connection and now we had to go. I would 110% recommend booking with Cancun Adventures and requesting for Ricardo and Carlos as your guides.
