Top Oaxaca Sightseeing Passes

We had a wonderful time on the Ultimate Hierve el Agua and Mescal Tasting full day excursion. Beautiful mineralized rock formations, and loved having local guide Don Aurelio share about the area. Definitely bring your water shoes and swimsuit, the opportunity to swim at the waterfall after the second hike should not be missed, but requires a short walk up a stony riverbed. Good hiking shoes and sun protection are needed for the hikes, a hiking stick will be provided. We also loved the mezcal tasting with Don Jerónimo, a larger than life personality. We gained such an appreciation for the art of making mezcal, and thoroughly enjoyed trying the different flavors from the different agave varieties and distillations. This is a wonderful full day excursion, with more than ample breakfast, lunch, and snacks. Thanks very much to our guide Diego for an informative and fun day, we learned a lot about the Oaxaca area and Mexican culture, and to Jorge for safely driving us. We also greatly appreciated how Coyote Adventures supports locals and local businesses. We would definitely recommend Coyote Adventures and this excursion!!

This was such a memorable experience. First thing was my guide, Maurine. She was just awesome - knowledgeable, friendly, and had great relationships everywhere we went. I actually had two separate tours with her during the week and I felt like i got so lucky to have her for both.First, we went to Hierve el agua which was just stunning. Not many people there so it really was a special experience. One thing about Maurine is she will just leave you be for a bit so you can have a special experience and soak it in (she stays close by, just gives you some privacy) and i really appreciated that.Then, the Mezcal. We went to see this man named Geranimo who i will never forget. He taught me all about his process for making mezcal and the i got to taste different types that he makes and he explained to me the differences of each, while also quizzing me on them. What a fascinating individual who i will never forget. I met his whole family and it was special to spend a few hours with them. I cannot recommend this enough.

An incredibly full and fun day. Our guide, Jared, and our driver were excellent. Jared was fun and also deeply informed about every aspect of Mexico we were curious about. We loved the ancient tree, the chocolate making, the mystical mountainviews, the brilliant weaver and dyer, the fantastic lunch, the glorious swim, and the astonishing process of making Mezcal. Everything about the trip was generous At the end of the trip Jared asked us if we felt more Mexican now. The answer is yes, we feel we got beyond the surface and got a better understanding of the life, spirit, and art of Oaxaca. A+!

We had a great trip to see the sites in the Oaxaca area and experience Oaxacan culture. Jose was a great and gracious host . And Juan Carlos our driver brought us everywhere safely..The entirety of the tour was explained in Spanish and English and was presented very well by Jose. Our trip with Christian was great, it was a highlife of our visit to Oaxaca. The food was delicious, home cooked meals prepared from scratch. We were welcomed as family. The scenery was breathtaking and the waterfall was refreshing and beautiful. Mexcal tasting was educational and an experience to remember. Must do in Oaxaca.

My partner and I both agreed this was easily one of the best tours we’ve ever experienced. We started the day with Marlene and a local guide, exploring the petrified waterfalls up close — the views were absolutely breathtaking.Marlene then led us on a two-hour hike (thankfully downhill!), and throughout the journey she was incredibly attentive, professional, and deeply knowledgeable. She pointed out unique plants along the way and shared rich insights into Oaxacan culture, which made the experience feel so much more meaningful. I genuinely felt like I learned a lot.At the end of the hike, we were rewarded with a refreshing swim in a local cenote — it was truly magical. We finished the day with a beautiful home cooked lunch and mezcal tasting at a local farmer’s home, where we were welcomed so warmly it felt like spending time with family.I’m not usually someone who writes reviews, but this experience absolutely deserved it. I can’t thank Marlene enough for creating such a memorable and perfect day for us.

🌟 My cousin and I reviewed several tours and this one covered all the places we wanted to see in one day: Santa Maria del Tule, Hierve el Agua, Teotitlan del Valle, Santiago Matatlan, San Pablo Villa de Mitla and a mezcal tasting! Of note, we conducted the booking in Spanish and our driver also only spoke Spanish but our trip guide was bilingual, and all the stops had fully bilingual presenters/guides. Also, we communicated fluently via WhatsApp to verify the trip and to find the meeting spot at the Zocalo the day of the tour. Met some great fellow travelers and shared some amazing experiences. Tip: at Hierve el Agua, water (anti-slip) shoes are a must - it's *very* slippery. Ask a fellow traveler to take your photo "at the edge" of the first pool - nifty optical illusion. Highly recommended! 🌟

A great way to see the main tourist sites - organised so each trip in the air con mini van is only up to c 30 mins. Our driver Misael and guide Andres were both really friendly.

I loved the experience, I went with my partner and they were very kind to us, the explanation, the tasting and the mezcal was great. It is certainly an experience that you cannot miss if you are in Oaxaca City.

Five stars! Diego was a phenomenal host and the trip was a perfect blend of outdoor activity and exploring Oaxacan culture. We learned a lot and we had a blast. Can’t ask for more than that. Highly recommend.

Lucas was a great guide although my husband who doesn’t speak Spanish wished he could have explained the various sites more.
