Top Iceland Climbing

Amazing, I recommend everyone visiting iceland to do this. this was my first via ferret and it wa so fun. I was worried at first because im not the most athletic, but it was perfect.

Absolutely loved this via Ferrata. We have done others and this one is the perfect amount of fun parts and challenging parts. Ask the guide to take pictures for you and then airdrop later.

Epic day! Our Guide, Lukas was great. He made climbing on the glacier easy. It was a long hike but definitely one of our favorites.

Excellent experience. I had a small mishap near the top and fell. The guide was helpful and I completed the hike, with only a minor injury.

Kish and Rich are super professional and knowledgeable, they took care of everything and making our canyoning experience safe and enjoyable.We were unsure and nervous about getting into icy water at first but the wetsuit kept us warm the whole time. We had prior canyoning experience but those were mostly cliff jumping and sliding, little did we do rappelling before this tour. This was the first time we try rappelling so extensively. We were a bit scared at first but Kish & Rich were very patient and explained the techniques and safety precautions in great details, we were so proud of ourselves for having descended down the tall cliffs!It was so fun and was such a unique experience to immerse yourself in the spectacular Iceland scenery! 4 hours flew by quickly without us even realizing! The group size is small so you are being taken good care of (we were lucky enough to be the only group of the session and got a private tour!). Be sure to book in advance!

We just went on a group (about 20 people) cruise with 2 days land tour pre cruise. It was the high lighted out trip. Bus driver was great and tour guide amazing. They even surprised us with Santa on our ride to the cruise. Iceland is amazing!!

Worth it! Guides are super efficient, very knowledgeable. The place is amazing, definitely off the beaten track and I know what I say since I’m guiding in Iceland too. It isn’t cold as we got thick neoprene. Their gear is in good shape. Plus, it is a small company definitely better idea to go with them to the glacier for example than with huge operators.

Our guide was Martin from Germany.We were two young guys with some regular climbing experience.We got the most informative introduction and theory to ice climbing.We were out for the whole day, and got to climb 5 different pitches. It varied from top belay, bottom belay and different techniques to deal with transversing glaciers.Martin was clear in communication, kind, funny, and most importantly showed respect for safety.This tour is a MUST for adventurous people.

Hands down the best hiking guide I’ve had in Iceland. Extremely knowledgeable and ready for adventure. Our group was willing and able to tackle anything Ignacio threw at us and we had a blast. Would highly recommend to anyone.

Cool to do! It is a cave / tunnel that naturally changes because of the melting ice. We did it a few days ago with warm weather. You walk over narrow bridges of a few boards with a rope next to them. Pretty exciting! Safety is taken into account. You go through the tunnel, you have time to take pictures, and you go back. The monster truck is also fun to drive.

We are two relatively experienced mountaineers who have never climbed vertical ice before. We decided to book a private ice climbing tour with South Coast Adventure.We were met at the parking lot by Erik, our cheerful and knowledgeable guide for the day. After a ten minute wander, we were at the snout of the glacier. A nice treat for people more used to 6 hour approaches on foot!Solheimajokull glacier is quite different to the other glaciers in the near area. While smaller, it has beautiful geography and you can see icebergs calving into the lagoon if you are lucky. The whole glacier is rippled with lines of volcanic ash which make for a spectacular sight.As two people with a lot of experience of staying safe on glaciers it was obvious to us that Erik knew what he was doing and after a short wander around to get our bearings we chose the perfect piece of ice to play with. If you are a total beginner we could not recommend him enough...he took the time to ask about our experience levels and chose the perfect ice for us. He was safety conscious at all times and also very knowledgeable about techniques and ways to improve. Always encouraging, never distracted...you could tell that he loves what he does.There's ice on Solheimajokull for nervous beginners to confident ice rookies like ourselves. Even though it was tipping down with rain we loved every moment.If you want to give ice climbing a try without having to share with lots of other people in a group, this is the tour for you.

I really loved this tour & couldn't get enough of ice climbing! The two Italian guides, Francisco & Daniel, were brilliant: very experienced, friendly, and they approached each of us & every activity with care & compassion. I felt seen, safe & entertained. What more would anyone wish for on a tour? The guides were also clearly incredibly passionate about glaciers which made the experience that much better for the participants as well! Definitely highly recommended for anyone curious about glacier exploration . I would also like to thank our driver-guide Greta. We all got completely soaked to the bone at the end of the tour & she took care of us, even offering me her own jacket to keep warm while my own was drying (along with my trousers!) what a wonderfully caring & warm person she is!

This was such a cool experience. It was the first big thing we did on our honeymoon. We got lucky enough that we were the only guests on the tour, so it ended up being a private tour! Our tour guide was incredible. He made us feel so safe and capable every step of the way. I would really only recommend this to experienced hikers and thrill seekers. It's really not hard at all, but I definitely had to remind myself that I was safe. The tour guide was great at building courage and we even ended up leaning back from the mountain with our arms stretched out. The bridge was amazing and even despite the deep fog, you could still see the magnificence of the mountain. Would do again and again! We had such a good time.

I had the most amazing first ice climbing experience. Daniel and Lucas were incredible guides. They were knowledgeable, encouraging, patient, and just genuinely wonderful people to spend the day with.I came out as a solo female, and I don’t think they even realize the role they’re playing in helping people rewire their brains and what they believe they’re capable of. There’s something really powerful about showing up alone to do something completely new and a little intimidating, and having guides who make you feel safe, capable, and completely comfortable being there.I left feeling so proud of myself and incredibly grateful for the experience. It was so much more than just getting to try ice climbing for the first time.I also used the shuttle option, and the driver was wonderful. I felt very safe the entire time.Cannot recommend this experience, Daniel, and Lucas enough. Truly one the highlight of my trip.
