My wife and I have been going to Universal for the last 3 years now.The first time we went we spent $750 for one day for fast passes and admission tickets. We thought they were way over priced. The second time we went we didn't want to spend the money on fast passes, and stayed at a cheap hotel. We had fun until the parks started to get busy then we left a day early, we were miserable. The third time we started to realize you need a fast pass when you go to universal, so we got smarter and booked our stay at a premium hotel, and bought the annual passes, which you save 30 percent on the hotels if you catch it at the right time. We had the best experience ever, and ever since we started going to universal twice a year.Halloween Horror Nights was a blast, we paid extra for the fast passes and easily did all the houses in a night, and we were done before midnight. We ended up going three times that week.I see alot of complaints in some peoples reviews. The reason why people do not enjoy their time at the park is their preparation. I would spend a couple hundred dollars on a vacation I will have great memories with my family, then try to save money and not enjoy myself.Universal has alot to offer, I hope this review was helpful to people. Honestly, a great way to plan is to join universal forums or watch Rix Flix on Youtube. He helps navigate the parks and lets you in on the secrets.

We came here with our family and had an amazing time! We stayed on property at the Loews Royal Pacific, which is an amazing experience and very much worth the expense because of the early entry, express passes, and water taxis to and from universal. They also have a couple of really good restaurants on property as well. The pool area is nice, with bar service and quality “pool-side” menu. The water taxis start running at 7 am, and drop you at City Walk. Islands of Adventure opens at 8, and lines start forming at 7:15 for Hagrid’s Ride. If you don’t want to wait 2 to 3 hours for that ride…which is incredible in every sense of the word…get there early. All three days we rode it we walked right on. A few other highlights of our visit were the Bourne Stunt Show, King Kong ride, Transformers ride, the Christmas Parade, Velocicoaster (5*), The Grinch Christmas Show, and The Hogwarts Castle light show (brought tears to my eyes). All-in-All a huge success!

I love Universal! The simpsons area and Harry Potter parts are my favorite! I love the rides and the food. I like it because it’s not as geared for kids like other theme parks.

This park is fun but I would love to see them add a couple of thrilling coasters. The rip rocket is amazing for sure but would love more like islands of adventure. Diagon ally is awesome and I had a great time. I did deal with a couple of grouchy employees but the nice ones really overshadow them. Would recommend coming in the off season for sure.

Visited Universal Orlando first of December and as usual is a great place to be a kid and get away. Masks are encouraged but NOT FORCED -- unlike another local theme park. This is the way it should be!! Let adults make their own decisions on how HE/SHE wants to handle Covid. I'm just so pleased that we could enjoy our vacation without mandating a rule that makes no sense. After 2 days of walking the park -- ALL DAY, I'd say 1%-2% of people wore masks -- now that says a lot. And hey, if you want to wear a mask, that's absolutely fine! Whatever makes one comfortable! Anyway, our trip was great -- all of the rides were fun, clean, and operational. (Well, except one -- Borne Identity, which we were really looking forward to, but that's ok -- we'll catch it next time). The staff - every single one - were fantastic -- so nice and very accommodating to our needs. We even had to visit lost and found due to losing an Airpod and case. The lady did everything she could to help us -- even trying to search via ID number for the Airpods. I just want to say, this is the first time since this virus has interrupted our lives that we've truly enjoyed our time in Orlando. Thanks Universal!! We'll be back!

We love to visit Universal and this trip was great! Pros and favorites: 1. Frozen Butter beer - we definitely prefer the frozen over the regular - much better taste! 2. Gringott’s is our favorite ride at this park! Our second favorite actually might be Race through New York and the Revenge of the Mummy. 3. Better lunch/dinner food and more options than at Islands of Adventure - we specifically liked the jacket potatoes and the tacos. Cons: 1. The snack foods are not so good - churro tasted days old, Turkey leg and pretzels tasted old as well,Overall our visit to this park did not disappoint! We will definitely return!!

My family and I vacationed here from 10/31/21-11/6/21 and we stayed at the Portofino Bay resort. I already reviewed that on their specific tripadvisor page so I’m not going to discuss it here (great hotel). What I will discuss is how my expectations for the park were greatly exceeded. I haven’t been here for many years. My last time was in 2008 and the time before that was in 2003. We usually made it a day trip coming from a Disney resort. In fact, my family and I typically went to Disney and stay at their resorts because that’s where my parents took me when I was a kid. I went to Disney in 2008, 2010, 2011 and 2019 with my wife and kids. I decided this year to come here because quite frankly Disney has gotten really crazy with their pricing while taking away many of the perks. I’m really happy we did come because as I mentioned above, the park was way better than I expected. The attractions here for the most part are top notch. Classic attractions that I remember from last time I was here, such as, MIB: Alien Attack and ET are still phenomenal and really hold up well. The Mummy is also great, however I must admit I did enjoy Kongfrontation more and wished they built a new building for The Mummy and kept Kongfrontation. I realize this change happened almost 20 years ago but that ride was amazing. Rides that we experienced for the first time which we really enjoyed were Transformers 3D, Race through New York, Despicable Me and especially Escape from Gringotts. All are amazing and we went on multiple times thanks to our express passes we got for staying at the Portofino. I miss the Terminator 2: 3D stunt show but I understand why it’s not there anymore and I agree it’s finally time to replace Shrek 4d which I hear they are doing in a few months. One giant misstep is they took out the “Disaster” ride (previously Earthquake) and replaced it with the abysmal and awful Fast and Furious ride. Worst “ride” in either of the two parks. One other minor complaint is I wish they would let you video record using a camera with no external lighting on their attractions. They are very strict regarding that and will not let you do it. I’m not even talking about on a ride like Rip Ride Rocket roller coaster. Attractions like MIB: Alien Attack I would have liked to record my kids shooting the aliens but they make you put everything in lockers prior. I have to make the comparison but Disney let’s you record on just about all of their attractions such as Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin which is very similar to this. I can’t comment too much on the restaurants because we ate dinner at City Walk both nights we went to this park. We had lunch one of the days at Mels Drive-In and it was completely overpriced but to be expected. I understand it’s in a theme park. In the end and overall we all had an amazing time. So much so that we already booked a trip next year ( Royal Pacific Resort). Can’t wait!

All I need to say is the Hagrid rollercoaster and Velociraptor rollercoaster are MAJOR upgrades to Universal’s repertoire. Go and enjoy.
