OUR BEST EXCURSION IN ALASKA
This excursion begins in an old abandoned fish cannery, which is still stocked with the assembly line preparation and packaging equipment. It is like a moment frozen in time. Our knowledgeable and personable tour guide, Colin, took us for a long private ride on a Zodiac boat, which is an inflatable type motor raft that moves quickly and wave free through the vast glacial bay. The area is absolutely beautiful with mountains, waterfalls and scenic bays. We were blessed with a beautiful and sunny day and stayed dry the whole time. Rain gear is provided by them if it is necessary. I highly recommend this tour for a beautiful, private, eco-friendly visit in the Ketchikan area.

Can not recommend this tour enough!! We were taken out this morning and what an incredible time we had. We saw breaching humpback whales, orcas, sea otters, eagles! Science mom (as she is known) was the tour guide and she was incredibly knowledgeable and you could clearly see how much she loved sharing her knowledge and her love of the wildlife. Highlight of our cruise in Alaska!! So well organised and top notch gear, also provided hot chocolate and snacks which were a lovely touch. Thank you for making our trip so memorable.

An Outstanding Experience
My wife/I chose this excursion through Royal Caribbean Cruises. My wife, 65, was a little anxious when the tour said rapids.After listening to the instructions from our raft guide, Caden, she was much more at ease.Caden was very experienced as a guide as well as professional, communicative, and funny. This trip is a must if you want to experience the wonders of Mendenhall Glacier and the ecosystem that surrounds it.All of the guides were exceptional, but, if you can get Caden, you've got someone special.

Great way to immerse yourself in nature
So glad we bailed on Skagway and ventured to Haines for this excursion! We wanted something less kitschy and more nature-based, and this excursion was perfect for our family. Don't be fooled by the name - it's not whitewater rafting, and you don't have to do any work other than hold on. The guide oars for you and you enjoy the beautiful scenery, plus some narration. We appreciated the bonus boat ride on the ferry to and from Haines - what a lovely view along the way. Our guides picked us up from the Haines fast ferry dock and drove us to the raft put in. Guides provided rubber boots and life jackets. After a safety demonstration, we were on our way for an 8-mile float down the river. We had an unusually sunny day, which was not great for eagle spotting - but the views were spectacular and we learned so much from our guide Sean! An amazing lunch was available right after we got out of the river, and then they shuttled us right back to the fast ferry. This was well-organized and we had a blast seeing the Chilkat River like this. Thank you to our guide Sean and our leader Danny!

Captain Rich was skillful getting us safely down the river and was very knowledgeable about all the wildlife and plant species we were seeing. Saved our day!
Chugach Adventures saved our day! We were on the train, about 3/4 of the way, when the train lurched, slammed on the brakes and came to a stop. Turned out the track had washed away and derailed the 1st engine on the train ): The train personnel tried to tell us they could not do anything, that we couldn't leave the train (literally could see the highway not 20 yards from us), that they would be backing the train up with the one engine left back to Anchorage and it would take 3 hours. Everyone was upset - one of the other passengers called Chugach Adventures, explained what had happened and asked if they could work something out with the railroad. About a 1/2 hour later, they had it worked out. The train backed up to a spot where Chugach Adventures could pick us up in a sprinter van and off we went.. They really went above and beyond for us. Although our trip to the Conservation Center was quick we did still see it, had a nice lunch and was still able to do a raft trip although not the glacier one since the train was needed for that. We were all just so happy we were not stuck on a train! So grateful they were accommodating and helpful. They even drove everyone back to their hotels afterward in Anchorage! Special shoutout to Olivia who was our guide/tour leader and had so much enthusiasm and good cheer!

This tour is the perfect "goldilocks" of multiple adventures! The train ride is perfect - I think I'd get bored during a full day on the train. Amazing views, and informative commentary. After disembarking the train, the guided experience at the wildlife center was one of my favorite things we did (especially because we didn't see ANY other 4 legged wildlife in 565 miles driving to Seward and Talkeetna). The rafting experience was SO cool, getting to go up close to the glacier and icebergs. The sack lunch was seriously so good! I remember seeing that in another review and it is true! Last but certainly not least, our guide, Caroline, was fantastic! She got our whole group talking and joking and interacting, which made the whole experience way more fun. 10/10 Caroline! She did a great job, and clearly communicated safety info before rafting.

Amazing guides, great experience, perfect for people who want to do something different than everyone else, if you wanna get off the tourist trail a little and NOT have a burn and churn experience like most other rafting outfitters. The trip is perfect for a couple of small families with adventrous kids, 2 families of 4 and a couple other family friends and you will be essentially booking a private trip with some of the most experienced guides ive met. These guides really know about the area on a level most other guides do not. Great value for the price!
