We had such a wonderful and authentic experience with Qato Tours. The cooking class with an Albanian family was much more than just learning how to cook Albanian food – it felt like being welcomed into someone’s home and getting a real glimpse into Albanian family life and traditions.We cooked together, laughed a lot and learned so much about the food, the recipes and the stories behind them. Everything was relaxed, warm and very personal. The food we prepared together was absolutely delicious, and sitting down afterwards to enjoy the meal made the whole experience even more special.For us, this was one of those experiences that we will remember long after our trip. A big thank you to the family and to Qato Tours for making us feel so welcome and for sharing a little piece of Albanian culture with us. We can wholeheartedly recommend this experience! ❤️

Had a really enjoyable time cooking three Albanian dishes (which all tasted lovely!). Sindy was a great teacher, friendly, warm and gave clear instructions. There were 8 people in our group which was perfect for everyone to contribute. There was also an good amount of time to be able to socialise, both whilst the food was cooking and when we ate. Thoroughly recommend.

Sindi was a great hostess and teacher - funny and very hospitable. Wine and water were provided - as much as you wanted. Learned some valuable techniques for phyllo dough prep that I will certainly use again. Lamb dish and vegetarian options were both excellent with lots of food to take away after eating together. Great camaraderie among the participants. Highly recommend.

It was an amazing experience. We truly got to experience the family’s hospitality and felt very welcome in their home. The mother gave the cooking workshop in Albanian with great passion, while her son translated everything for us. A real must-do if you’re in Berat. Definitely deserves a full 5 stars!

It was such an amazing experience! We had the opportunity to learn about and make traditional Albanian dishes and meet so many great people from all over the world! Maris was host chef and he is such a gracious and exceptional host! He is also very involved with helping others is his community and that is something I want to commend him for! I would absolutely do this again and encourage you to book a class if you’re ever in Albania!

One of the things everyone must try when they are in Tirana it was fun experience I found that you was one of the best things I did Tirana.

My partner and I booked the Go as Local cooking class on a Friday, and it turned out to be the absolute highlight of our trip to Tirana. From the very start, the atmosphere was warm, relaxed, and full of genuine Albanian hospitality. Our host made the entire experience effortless and engaging—we weren't just watching a demonstration, but actively rolling up our sleeves, learning authentic family recipes, and having non-stop fun throughout the evening. The vibe was lively, easygoing, and completely unpretentious. The food we prepared together tasted incredible, paired with great local wine and wonderful conversation. It felt much more like spending a cozy Friday night cooking with good friends than being in a formal workshop. If you are visiting Tirana—especially as a couple looking for an authentic, memorable activity—do not miss this. A true 10/10 experience!

A very special experience We had a traditional Albanian cooking class at our guide’s family home, and that made it much more than just a cooking class. His whole family was involved and together we prepared several traditional dishes. I really enjoyed being welcomed into their home and having the chance to meet the family. It felt personal and genuine. Our guide was, as always, friendly and attentive and made us feel very welcome. A lovely way to experience a little bit of Albanian family life as well as Albanian food. Definitely one of the special moments of our time in Berat.

Such a special experience in Berat! This is much more than a cooking class. You’re welcomed into a family home and really made to feel like a guest rather than a customer. We loved cooking traditional Albanian dishes together, but even more than that, we loved the time spent talking, laughing and sharing a meal with the family. Everyone was incredibly kind and welcoming, including with our 2-year-old daughter who had the best time there too! It felt genuine, personal and full of warmth. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Albania !!!!

The Beer Tasting Tour in Tirana was one of the highlights of my trip! We got to try a variety of local craft beers, each with its own unique flavor and story behind it. The guide was super friendly, knowledgeable, and made the experience both fun and educational. I loved learning about Albania’s growing beer culture while enjoying great company and a relaxed atmosphere.
