Excellent english speaking biologist provided insight into the whale’s importance and position in the biosphere. Numerous questions were listened to and appropriately answered in clear easily understandable retorts. The guide had a very dedicated interest in the whales which clearly was reflected in her running dialogues. The Virtual mixed Reality was available for an additional fee and while the experience was short it was worth the cost and this fee goes for support of this private, non-government museum. Interactive exhibits were all working and were available after the guided tour. Total time that we took there was 3 hours but can be shorter if you skip the numerous interactive displays. Low cost admission fee was worth every peso! The only minor problem we had was finding the museum itself as it is nested in the residential area and some of the streets are dead end and switchback. So, make sure you take the address with you so your taxi driver can find it. It is within sight of the lighthouse but is about a 15 minute walk back down to the waterfront main artery for catching a return taxi.

Really interesting exhibits and shows. We highly recommend this to everyone looking for something to do.

I loved my experience! We got to walk around the entire location and enjoy the animals as well as the beautiful plants. My boyfriend and I went at the perfect time because we also got to partake in a bonding spiritual experience. We were able to reflect, let go of things that no longer served us, and symbolically burn them in the fire. It made the whole experience feel even more special and meaningful.I also won’t forget Narciso the peacock or the kind woman who guided us through the entire spiritual ceremony. She made the experience feel so welcoming and memorable. They also sell alcohol, which was definitely a plus for us! We went sometime around 2–4 PM in June, and the timing felt perfect.

You can walk with parrots, toucan, flamingo, and peacocks. The view is amazing and you can learn the history in the historical house. The whale museum is informative with hands-on activities for the children. But do not miss the chocolate ceremony! This was the highlight of the trip and yes she speaks both in Spanish and English. It is a high vibrational ceremony with great intention.

A very well done, informative, museum with some really great, interactive displays. Well worth it. Admission was part of a whale watching trip but the perfect combination. Go whale watching and then check out the museum.

The MUNBA is an exceptional museum that stands out for its innovative character, its high scientific rigor and a clear and accessible museography that makes it understandable and attractive to diverse audiences. Few museums on the subject I know of that can so effectively balance quality scientific outreach with a visitor-friendly experience.From a scientific perspective, I would like MUNBA to consider the implementation of a specialized reference collection for the conservation of stranded animal skulls. This type of collection would strengthen comparative research, support taxonomic and morphological studies, and contribute directly to research developed by colleagues from different parts of the world.

We enjoyed this place. Staff seemed to care about the animals. The building itself is well kept. And the view, as others have said, is great. And a walk or easy ride to el centro caps a nice afternoon. The ceremony could use some english, or at least, a little card so you could follow along. The zip line ends here, btw. Genuinely unique experience, overall.

we were in mazatlan for a couple weeks and spent a couple hours checking this out and it was pretty cool. you take a funicular up to the top where we walked through the museum which has a video sort of showing the history of mazatlan which was neat, walked through a very nice garden, went through a long elevated pathway that goes past a huge birdcage and some iguanas and turtles on the way to the whale museum which is also quite interesting. there's a restaurant at the top of the building, I didn't have any food but the beer was a really fair price and overall just a great spot to enjoy the view and relax. I'd recommend checking it out for sure if you're in the area!

About 10 minutes from the cruise port. Very nice near the cliff and beautiful view of the funicular. We enjoyed walking in the trails seeing parrots and iguanas.

It was a wonderful way to spend the day. The whale museum, the bird sanctuary and the cocoa ritual were all fabulous.

Great views, nice landscape, easy walking paths, good historical video to start before the cable car ride. The Mumba whale museum is so well done. Joyed thenrescue bird astuary. Nice bar/cafe. A great way to spend 2-3 hours at a reasonable cost.

A must visit while in Mazatlan! Beautiful,clean and the bird sanctuary is awesome.

My wife and I visited the Observatory to see what it was about. We’re glad we went! The Observatory deck was a 360-degree view of Mazatlan, best in town (in our opinion). You can enjoy the views while having a drink. Great stuff. In addition, you get access to the whale museum, an exotic birds sanctuary, bar and grill on the sanctuary rooftop. We’d go back again.
