Chef Pame was the star of the show during this outstanding cooking class. There were vegetarian and gluten-free options available. We started with an appetizer and agua fresca while Pame introduced us to evolution of Mexican cuisine. She then guided us through Mercado Medellín, which included samples of fresh tortillas, chocolate, insects, and local fruits. Upon returning, Pame's energy was infectious. She provided high-energy, educational, and hands-on guidance to all the prep stations. We made sopes, tortillas, salsa roja and verde, mextlapiques, mole blanco, and pan de elote. Everything was delicious, and we made salsas of varying spice levels. I've had the pleasure of taking several cooking classes around the world, and Pame's class was easily my favorite. I left with an appreciation and understanding of the cultural significance of Mexican cuisine. Pame's love for her country, cooking, and profession were inspiring. We can't wait to plan a return visit to Mexico City to take another class with Pame!

It was amazing. The vehicle from which they picked us up in to the restaurant we cooked in clean, friendly atmosphere and very accommodating. Sasha was clear and concise with his directions and enthusiasm. He included all of us and his cooking and the food was delicious. Damien was the grill guy he was there for questions and helpful directions.

Chef Oswald was fabulous! He guided us with cooking a delicious tomato based Mole that his grandmother created years ago. We also made homemade tortillas, fresh salsa and chocolate tamales. Everything was absolutely delicious and he gave us written recipes. His cooking site is wonderful, very comfortable; full of plants, traditional cooking methods and equipment, with a big table where we all relaxed and enjoyed our creations at the end. I highly recommend taking this class.

Best Excursion ever! A must for everyone!
Chef Enrique class was the highlight of our trip! He picked us up at the Cruise terminal. We went to the market and he explained the different fruits, vegetable, information on meat and cooking, as well as spices. He took us to a tortilla factory and explained the process of making them. It was so uplifting to see everyone greet him with smiles and welcomes. After shopping, we went to his beautiful home and met his wife and his cousin. He explained what he was doing, how the spices changed the dish and included us in the preparation of the device, guacamole and chili rellenos. He made the BEST margaritas we have ever had. The food was delicious and beautiful. His wife was so kind and showed us how to make homemade tortillas. We enjoyed our time and wished it didn't have to end. Chef Enrique took us back to the Cruise Terminal since it was just the two of us. I would recommend this tour to anyone! I am sure it will be the highlight of your trip as well!

My favorite day in Oaxaca!
From the time Enrique picked me up until the end the whole experience was once in a lifetime! We cooked a great meal based on Oaxaca culture and Chef Andrade’s elders and ancestors. It was FANTASTIC! I was solo, however by the time I arrived, I never felt alone. Their children came and gave us hugs after returning from swimming!! So sweet! The cooking class itself was so educational and very hands on. Chef walked us through each ingredient and how it is traditionally prepared. Need I say that the best part was EATING! We sat at the table together like family. I can’t say enough great things about my experience. I would 100% recommend!! If you are considering this experience, BOOK IT!

What a fabulous day. First we all met and learned some history of Mole and cacao. Then, it was off to shopping to buy ingredients from local markets. When we got back to the kitchen, we learned how to make amazing fresh margaritas. Then it was pico de gallo, guacamole, and tamales. Truly a feast. Carina and Isse could. It have been better hosts.

We were lucky, because we were just the two of us, so we had basically a private class :). Oscar was a really nice host, he explained everything, and even more. In the market he intruduced us to different ingredients and talk about how to use them. During the cooking part, we were part of every process, and meanwhile we were cooking the rest of the team made sure we had everything and cleaned every time it was needed. We made two appertizers, a soup, a main course and even a dessert!

This vegetarian cooking class with Chef Victor was one of the highlights of my trip to Oaxaca. Victor's knowledge of Oaxacan cuisine and indigenous Zapotec culture is exceptional, and it was a genuine pleasure to learn from him.The class started with a trip to a local market, where we sampled local products (chocolate, cheese, fruits) and heard about their history and production. From there, we got fully hands-on making mole, guacachile, several salsas, rice, and tortillas from scratch, with Victor explaining the story and technique behind every dish.The atmosphere was fun and relaxed (with plenty of mezcal along the way!). There were only three of us in the session, which made it feel personal. Victor even taught us a few words in Zapotec, which was a lovely touch. By the end, we had an enormous spread of food in front of us, and every single dish was delicious.All the staff at Etnofoods were fantastic, and the whole experience felt like exceptional value for money.One thing worth flagging: this class is rooted in indigenous Zapotec cuisine, which is naturally plant-based, so vegetarians and meat-eaters alike will get a completely authentic experience — no one is missing out here!Highly recommend, and I'd book without hesitation.

Everyone we encountered at the restaurant was welcoming & warm. The restaurant ambiance was rustic & stunning. Oh yeah… the food was so good & plentiful. Amazing value. We were beyond pleased!
