As a couple, we booked the hippo submarine boat trip setting off from Lindos, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our holiday. It's a wonderful experience for couples, but watching the families around us enjoying themselves just added to the atmosphere — kids laughing, parents relaxing, everyone having a brilliant time together.The trip actually starts with a beautiful 30-minute coach ride straight from our hotel, which was a lovely scenic journey in itself. At 35 euros, it was incredible value — especially when some of the normal boat trips we saw started at 65 euros. It truly feels like 2 trips in one as you can enjoy relaxing up top or down below looking beneath the sea.One of the best parts is the underwater viewing — you get to see right under the ocean, watching the fish and sea life as you cruise along. It was magical for us as a couple, and we loved seeing the kids on board pressed up against the windows, completely mesmerised. Safety is clearly a top priority for the crew. They provide life jackets, floats, and snorkels, and they genuinely keep watch over everyone in the water, making sure no one swims too far out. It was reassuring to see how attentive they were with the families on board too. There are two stop-offs for swimming, giving everyone a chance to cool off in the sea, and onboard they serve drinks and snacks, plus you get 2 free soft drinks included.A special mention has to go to the captain, Taso (pronounced Tasso), who owns the boat — he was such a friendly, warm guy and really made the day feel personal and special. He also did a great job selling me a t-shirt. It turned out to be great quality I the end.Highly recommend this trip — brilliant value, beautiful scenery, and a real feel-good atmosphere for couples and families alike!Thanks gents Lee and Lisa

A truly worthwhile tour, both above and below water. The crew provided us with plenty of information in addition to the drinks. The crowning finale was the young sea turtle that the crew pointed out to us in the bay of Lindos.

If you only go on one trip make sure it’s this one. Feeding the fish and then seeing them swim up to the windows was fantastic. The swim stops are for exactly the right amount of time and we had all ages from 3-75yrs and everyone swam and enjoyed it. The trip is such good value for money but you also get a free drink. Brilliant trip

Was a fantastic day, friendly staff and a great atmosphere, the underwater view is awesome and also great to have a swim, would definitely recommend it.

The trip was wonderful! The views were beautiful, the rocks underwater and fish are amazing! I recommend the boat trip for everyone!

Anticipate the fact that it's only 45 min long- they took us out in the harbour, friendly crew, showed us a couple of historical sites, then sent us below deck for the viewing. Not much to see initially until they found a school of fish that surrounded the boat, the diver fed the fish to get them closer and then fetched a crab to show us close. Kids loved it and for the cost, I considered value for money. Highly recommended for younger children who might get bored if the excursion was too long.

Our family of 6 (aged 17-53) have just had a really fantastic trip out on the Hippo submarine. The lovely crew were friendly and fun. The trip was just right in length with a swim stop in a beautiful bay. We thought it was super value for money too.

Great experience for an under sea adventure - compared to other trips reasonably priced. The length of the trip is just long enough Not too busy which means you get great views Staff were very helpful Best for singles, couples or families Highly recommended Spyro and Angel are great at making you feel welcome

Fantastic boat trip - great for all the family. This is something a bit different - a smaller boat with glass bottom which stops over Kolymbia Reef. Children get to feed the fish then you can watch them dart around the reef before moving on. The crew (all two of them!) are brilliant, very friendly and engaging. There are two swim stops and plenty of floats etc., to borrow. Drinks and snacks available on board, all very reasonably priced. We did this trip twice during our 2-week holiday and loved it just as much the second time as we did the first. Definitely recommend, especially for families.

A fun way to spend an afternoon. Spotting fish through the underwater cabin was great fun. The two swimming stops were made all the better for the on-board snorkelling equipment and swimming noodles being available. Snacks and drinks are available. The staff are super-friendly and attentive. Highly recommended.
