Top Darwin Airboat Tours

In one day we checked so many things off our Wishlist of wildlife, sites and experiences we hoped to have while visiting NT from Texas! From pickup to drop off, we would not change a single thing. With the exception that I would have made sure we had the time to stay overnight at Camp. We did not want the day to end when we left and the accommodations appeared just as good as any hotel in town! Communication with booking, confirmation of what to expect/be prepared for and pickup (prior to the day of), etc was exceptional. The tour description on the Top End site is what was delivered. The price was extremely reasonable for all the activities and the smaller group (15-ish) was perfect size for ample space and site seeing. From visiting and watching the crocodiles be fed, to the heli flight, airboat and more relaxing billabong cruise, we were informed how keep ourselves safe while getting the most enjoyment out of each experience. No other tour I found could offer so much diversity in just one day. They also have a handy pub you can purchase beer/wine from if you didn’t bring your own. Thank you Matt, Kaia, Jake (for being an awesome and knowledgeable guide for the day) and the rest of the Top End crew for allowing a couple from halfway around the world the opportunity to encounter so much that Australia has to offer! Hope to visit y’all again!

What a fantastic day Friendly and great guide, Danni your a star. Feeding Matts pet crocs with Matt and enjoying a beer at the end of the day capped off a great experience. We will be back, and thank you!

From the moment Jake (and his dog Kaia) picked us up in Darwin CBD, we knew this was going to be a great day. We kicked things off with a river boat cruise and a delicious breakfast on board - the perfect, relaxed start to the adventure.Jake's knowledge was next level. He didn't just talk crocs - he gave us a real appreciation for the whole ecosystem, the birdlife, and how it all fits together. You can tell this isn't just a job for him, it's a genuine passion, and it made the whole experience so much richer. Then came the airboat ride, which was lots of animal encounters from start to finish. Feeding the big crocs was an absolute highlight - equal parts thrilling and unforgettable. To top it all off, we finished with a scenic helicopter ride and relaxed by the pool with a cold beer, still buzzing from the day.Fun, informative, relaxing, and thrilling all in one — this place checks every box. If you're heading to the Top End, do not miss this experience!

Incredible experience. Everything was planned perfectly. Small group so we made great friendships. Highly recommend it.

Amazing day out and one of the best experience days we have done. Airboats, river cruse, helicopter ride and crock feeding all amazing. Great for all ages and one not to be missed.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐We had an amazing day with Top End Safaris and couldn’t recommend them highly enough! The staff were exceptional and our tour guide was fantastic — knowledgeable, friendly and entertaining. There was something for everyone, with our group ranging from 12 to 80 years old, and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. We saw a jabiru on its nest, freshwater and saltwater crocodiles, buffalo and an incredible variety of birdlife. Watching the crocodiles being fed was a highlight, and the helicopter flight was absolutely incredible and made the experience even more special. We were also treated to a fantastic buffet-style breakfast, and finishing the day with a swim in the infinity pool and a drink at the bar was the perfect way to top it all off.A huge thank you to our wonderful guide and all the staff at Top End Safaris for making the day so enjoyable and memorable. It was definitely one of the highlights of our Top End trip and an experience we won’t forget.Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Picked up at Coolalinga. Great. Drive out about 1 1/2 hours. Introduction to guides. Saftey instructions done. Onto cruise boat, with huge, self serve breakie. Lots of photo opportunities. Next the air boat ride...spotting wild life again....back to land. Feeding of captured crocs. Lots of informative information. Back for refreshments and chopper rides....bused back to starting point. Great day out and thoroughly enjoyable. Thank you Top End

Fantastic experience to do for all ages. From pick up to drop off the experience does not disappoint. A must do

Fantastic tour and a lot of fun. Would highly recommend this tour for the young and old.

Great day from start to finish. Could not fault a thing. Good value for a day trip.

Great experience great people with a lot of knowledge of the area. Will do the overnight trip next year. Loved it!

This tour was perfect from start to finish. Was picked up by Jake and Kaia (dog) and the atmosphere was relaxed and friendly from the start. Once at base we met Danni and Oakley(dog). Danni and Jake where full of knowledge and both a pleasure to have as tour guides. You can tell they love what they do. Breakfast on the riverboat was great, plenty of food. The airboat was a blast, and they didnt rush through any part of the trip. Seeing the rescue cross and hearing their stories was interesting, such magnificent animals. Then back to base camp where we got to cool off in the pool with a drink while waiting for our helicopter ride. The day was perfect, couldn't have asked for more and have already recommend it. Would gladly do again when back in darwin. Thank you Jake and Danni.

My husband and I had a great experience, ticked off a couple of bucket items, knowledgeable and friendly team. Nice food and definitely value for money

Other reviews have said it all. It's a fabulous day excursion with plenty to see and do: pontoon boat cruise, airboat ride, helicopter flight... It's especially great for people obsessed with crocodiles. Bird lovers will have to bring their own notes, as avian life, although present, does not get much mention. What makes this tour a stand-out is its relative affordability, especially compared to the Finniss River Lodge next door which offers some similar experiences, albeit at prices the average traveller could simply not afford. This is what the operators of Top End Safari Camp have to be congratulated on the most, providing a nature and wilderness adventure at a reasonable price.

I booked this experience for my partners birthday present. We planned our whole Darwin trip around this experience and I’d do it again in a heartbeat. From the moment we got picked up right outside our hotel we were greeted by jake who did his best to advise us to any questions we had about Darwin and the whole way to the experience he never once made any questions feel like a stupid one. When we got to the bbq cruise Maddy and Dani welcomed us with a grill full of rashers, eggs and paninis and even though they were cooking for 15+ people they didn’t skimp out on anything ! The food was 10/10 which is uncommon for such an action filled day! We then jumped onto the airboat where Dani was our driver and she made sure to get us to the best possible locations to get the best pictures and her and Jake filled us with knowledge about the crocs and the area. We then ventured up to the rescue pens to feed some of the rescued crocs and heard a little backstory which was an incredible experience would go back again for that alone! Then we got back to the common area where we were greeted by Jaquai the helicopter pilot and she topped off the day with a helicopter tour around the area and she helped spot some crocs and pigs from way above !

The best value in the NT what a great day the guides were great the scenery was outstanding. Loved the chopper ride but those airboats are out of this world. Saw plenty of wildlife including crocs and the feeding of the rescue crocs was great some big boys there! I forgot to mention breakfast of the boast yum! We would do this tour again and seeing Matt and his wife Kaia and the kids were a bonus for the day
