I had such a great time on the 2 night tour through Kakadu and Litchfield! Rhett was so caring, friendly and knowledgeable, and everything was organised really well. The tour was a great mix of fun, exploring and learning.It was honestly such a good experience and left me with a really great impression of the Northern Territory. I’m definitely coming back to explore more of the NT and hopefully do another tour with Rhett! Highly recommend 😊

My sister and I have just returned from a 5 day tour of Kakadu, Katherine and Litchfield and have had a fabulous time. Tim (French Tim) there are other Tim's who take the tours, was fabulous, really knowledgeable and a thoroughly good bloke and a bloody good laugh. We saw some wonderful places and the campsites were very comfortable. I would highly recommend this tour. We also met some great people also on the tour. It all went far too quickly.

We did a 3 Day Kakadu Litchfield 4WD Camping Adventure with Autopia and can highly recommend it. It was a smaller group which made things really manageable and our tour guide, Boggie, was so knowledgeable and you could tell he loved his job and the areas we visited; and the guide makes a big difference. We visited many locations, learnt a lot, saw lots of wild life and swam in some magical places.

This tour was fantastic. We were so happy that we got to see the NT with Offroad Dreaming, we definitively would not have had the same amazing experience if we had tried to follow the same itinary on our own. The team were so lovely to work with, from the initial booking, to pickup, meals, equipment etc. everything was executed professionally and confidently yet also with a level of care and friendliness. We were very fortunate to have Nev and Steffi as our guides during our five day adventure, Nev’s knowledges of the region was quite incredible about the aboriginal art sites, the local birds, tress, fauna and of course crocodile stories was definitely an added bonus and it is this detail that you would not get travelling without these guys. We went to bed in our tent each night feeling happy with full bellies, excited for what the next day would bring. I would highly recommend this tour and Offroad Dreaming, so much so that they will be who we choose when it comes to visiting the Kimberley's. Everything went like clockwork - pickup was on time and the itinerary was terrific in every aspect. Our guide was “Boggie” who was very knowledgeable and delivered interesting commentary across many subjects. His knowledge of the area, its history and indigenous significance was evident and welcome. The camp set up was very comfortable and enjoyable. All the food provided was excellent and delicious. The vehicle used was also very comfortable and with Boggie at the wheel we were in safe hands. Everything promised was delivered. I would highly recommend this tour - we found it just the right duration and it ticked all of our boxes. I went with my wife.

My partner and I have just enjoyed one of the most interesting and enjoyable holiday tours of our lives. We went with Neville and staff of OffRoad Dreaming to Kakadu, Katherine/Nitmiluk and the Litchfield National Park. The five day camping tour was full-on, but well planned. We saw and experienced an enormous range of flora, fauna and First Nations culture and rock art. Neville’s knowledge is only exceeded by his love of his subject. And he needs no lessons in catering, his Barramundi was better than Darwin restaurants! The countyside was stunning and the rock pool swimming holes heaven. Can’t recommend it enough. It will take weeks to absorb all that we have seen and experienced. Thank you Neville and Steffi. Richard & Vivienne.

The itinerary was phenomenal with so much natural beauty & splendour. We were taken a bit by surprise when we arrived at our first camp area. Our guide started by asking the younger members of the group to give preference to the mature ones for the lower bunks in shared cabins. Plus top bunks had no ladders. Fortunately our group was smaller & were all able to find some private space. I think these arrangements could have been discussed earlier with options explained. At our 2nd campsite all the tents appeared with swags for everyone. Overall the pace was very relaxed & enjoyable with plenty of time to enjoy each of the amazing locations we were taken to. I felt we were safely guided through the challenging terrain we encountered at times. Nate provided informative commentary along the way. He was very accommodating to some challenging dietary restrictions in the group. It was a great group that all pitched in to assist for meal & camp setup.

I took this tour in August 2026 with the incredible Rhett Ericsen-Miller as a guide. There was nine in the group, which was smaller than the max load, but even if there had been a bigger group, we'd have been fine I'm sure. The tour has several pickup points at hotels around Darwin, I was in Parap so the pickup was at a servo nearby as I don't think Rhett would have appreciated navigating the massive truck and trailer down to my hotel. On that note, hotels in Darwin are pretty cool about storing excess bags while you're out touring.There were small deviations from the tour itinerary, because of conditions and road closures, so we went to Motor Car Falls as Jim Jim Falls was closed. Not a big deal at all.Rhett had a tremendous amount of knowledge of Aboriginal culture and the importance of the places we visited, and was able to share that knowledge incredibly well. The way he was able to put a lot of things about, for example, the Aboriginal experience, and contextualize some of the more complicated things one might see in Darwin. All guides in Kakadu National Park are required to complete a pretty intensive course on the Aboriginal culture and the lands, and Rhett was able to tell their stories incredibly well. The tour also visits a cultural centre which adds a lot of that context as well.The Koolpin Gorge hike, as the tour marketing suggests, is very challenging and not for people without some degree of fitness. There's no real trail, it requires a fair bit of rock hopping, balance, and agility in places, but the reward of reaching the top of the gorge is more than worth it. We were surprised to see a freshwater crocodile in the second pool, but it seemed indifferent to our presence and just carried on with its day.If you're device dependent, definitely bring a big power bank as after the second night there are limited opportunities to charge devices. Use airplane mode on your phone most of the time, as you won't have any connectivity in most places anyway, and if you do, only Telstra really works. If you've got dietary requirements, pack snacks that work too. I wish I had brought surf shoes for the pools rather than being barefoot.This was a tremendous experience, excellent value, and the highlight of this trip to Australia.I could not have put something together like this for myself for less cost, and even then, the value of the guides are priceless.

A great 5 day adventure with a very special thank you to our amazing guide, Tim, who made the whole experience truly come alive. His incredible knowledge of Aboriginal culture, history and geology, combined with his wonderful storytelling, made every place we visited fascinating and memorable. Tim was passionate, engaging and genuinely exceptional at what he does.We explored up to 4 sites each day, with every day bringing something new and spectacular. The food was delicious, generous and plentiful, too.This was a fantastic experience from start to finish, and Tim was a huge part of what made it so special. I can’t recommend this trip highly enough.

With 5 and 9 year old boys we had limited options while booking a trip to the national parks of the NT. ATA offered a family friendly 4 day, 3 night tour that tailored the hiking and other aspects of the trip to enable younger children to participate.The details of the tour were as follows: Cruise the Mary River wetlands at Corroboree Billabong; Visit Cahill’s Crossing; Discover ancient Aboriginal rock art at Ubirr; Maguk (Barramundi Gorge) was closed so we went to Gunlom Waterfall instead, and the secluded Ikoymarrwa (Moline Rockhole); Take a guided cruise through the dramatic Katherine Gorge in Nitmiluk National Park; Relax with a swim at Edith Falls; Explore Litchfield National Park’s termite mounds, Florence Falls, Wangi Falls, and Buley Rockholes;Although each day of the tour had similarities, each stop had its own uniqueness and beauty. I have never swam in so many incredibly beautiful places.The tour was great and catered for younger travelers very well. There was just the right amount of driving, stops, and hiking whereby everyone enjoyed themselves but weren't bored or overtired by the end of the day. Fans in the tents also made the warmer nights much more comfortable. Although the permanent tents were basic they were more than suitable for a comfortable nights sleep.What made the trip a truly amazing experience, and one all 4 of us will cherish forever was two-fold.First was our tour guide Rhett. Tour guide is not a fair description. Rhett is a fountain of knowledge, a musician, a comedian, an entertainer, eccentric, patient and a truly great bloke. During our long drives he shared just enough, but not too much, of the history of a place or interesting facts about the local flora and fauna. He entertained us with his guitar skills and hosted a sing song evening involving the entire group. He opened our minds with his deep interest in the stars, the universe, and what it all means, all while making us laugh out loud with his comedic delivery of Rhett's Guide to the Galaxy. No matter what I write it cannot adequately explain the incredibly positive impact Rhett had on our experience and the enjoyment of our holiday. Rhett is a credit to ATA and you should seek him out for any tour.Second is the group we travelled with. There were 15 of us in total, made up of 4 families. The kids immediately got on, which is their way, and during breaks, dinner, and the tour stops the adults slowly but surely started chatting away and getting to know each other. We enjoyed dinner as a group each night, helped tidy up, and hung out at each swimming spot. We were so fortunate to travel with such a cool group who only enhanced the entire experience.I would highly recommend this tour, providing you like swimming, and could not recommend Rhett more highly. What a legend. Rockodile Dundee!

This was genuinely one of the best experiences of my life. I went with my sister but there were families with young children, older couples and solo travellers so it is suitable for all. We had an amazing tour guide called Jeremy who was incredibly knowledgeable and obviously very passionate about his job - which made the experience even better. We saw so many outstanding places and different wildlife species, and learning about the aboriginal people and the history of the locations was brilliant.

We had an amazing experience made all the more enjoyable due to the tour guide Rhett. We will be signing up for Gari next !

My two adult children and I had the best time on the 2-day Kakadu-Guluyambi. We learned and discovered so much about the fascinating Kakadu landscape, rock paintings, peoples, flora and fauna. We had quite a varied and informative itinerary, whetting our appetites for repeat and more lengthy visits. Mattia, our excellent guide, is extremely knowledgeable, respectful, patient, and a truly kind and caring person, with a wealth of experience. He could answer all of our voluminous questions, and also give us plenty of time to talk amongst ourselves, catching up on this special occasion of being together, as we live in different states. The atmosphere with Mattia was always very, very pleasant, and he was respectful of my ageing limitations, without making me feel a drag on the itinerary. Our accommodation and meals in Cooinda were delightful- we wished we could have spent another night there. We were mesmerised by the vista from our helicopter flight, as that part of Australia is vast, and much wetter and greener than we had understood. We would love to do other tours with Mattia. We recommend Mattia and this tour most highly!

This is a great way to get a sense of the city, and the commentary pointed us to a couple of attractions we hadn't known about. We got the 9.30 service and went right round the circuit. On the second round we got off at the Darwin art gallery and museum (which opens at 10), then picked up the bus again to the Flying Doctor museum, and later back to the Waterfront area. Finally, we went on Thursday, and caught the special 4.30 service the bus makes to the Mindil night market. It was very good value if you time your visits to catch the bus again.

We did the 4 Day Kakadu Katherine Gorge Comfort Tour in mid-May 2026 with Autopia. The tour was amazing, very well organised, safe, comfortable and the best tour guide ever! We were lucky to have Dani as our guide, as a local born and raised in Kakadu, she had so much knowledge of the local culture, bush tucker, medicine, flora, and fauna. And on top of that, she is a really fun person who looked after us and made sure everyone was happy. I can highly recommend this tour! Boh Boh
