Very good morning to for us to see what we have to see

Very personalised small group with an engaging host. Gary took the time to learn our names and look after us in a typically Australian way. The tour was full of stops and interesting stories and I felt a real connection with Darwin given my grandfather served here in WW2.

An excellent tour that takes in a look at Katherine town centre, the sublime Edith Falls, and the totally gorgeous Katherine Gorge. Tour Guide, Sona is a brilliant and caring communicator. Sona demonstrates a deep knowledge of the Territory itself and its attractions, and shows a love of Australia and her job. Great work, Sona!

My husband and I had a very enjoyable day with a friendly group and a relaxed, knowledgeable and friendly guide, Aaron. The three swimming spots were stunning. The water was very clean. Lunch was fine. All up a super day.

We had a wonderful day in Kakadu with Rob — beautiful, engaging and genuinely informative. What I particularly appreciated was the depth of his knowledge and the way he shared it: naturally, through conversation and close attention to the landscape, rather than simply delivering facts. It made the experience feel personal and thoughtful. As a photographer, I especially enjoyed our conversations about the region, its people and different ways of looking at and understanding this extraordinary place. It certainly left me curious to discover more beyond what can be experienced in a single day. The landscapes were extraordinary, and the whole day was very well organised. If I could suggest one addition, it would be a swimming stop somewhere along the route. I would also personally love an opportunity for a deeper Indigenous-led cultural experience, perhaps connected to contemporary everyday life, if something like this could be incorporated respectfully into the programme. Overall, a beautiful and meaningful experience. I would highly recommend Ethical Adventures and Rob to anyone who wants to discover Kakadu beyond simply seeing the main sights.

The website is great and gives you all the information you need, including well-labeled route maps and timing of stops. Note that there is only one bus an hour so it is not an efficient means to visit multiple attractions in one day (as you might do in other cities).A 30% discount from Cool Destinations tipped this over from a ‘maybe’ to a ‘definitely’ with the 24hr ticket option enabling us to take 2 morning buses within that period.The driver was helpful & friendly, patient with people buying tickets on-board and had a cheerful, positive commentary running throughout the drive around the city.It’s an excellent way to get the lay of the land while avoiding the heat and perhaps travel to a couple of your must-visit attractions…as long as you plan well.

The whole thing experience was absolutely first class. The information provided by the host Garry was extremely deep and well researched and presented in a fantastic manner. Garry is obviously passionate about the subject and is such a great host - his wide ranging knowledge of Darwin, and the wonderfully laconic was that the information was presented was totally amazing - I’d go so far to say that this tour is a must do for anyone who visits Darwin. Thank you for your efforts and expertise Garry.

A great day the guide and driver were very knowledgeable and made the trip fun with plenty of stops for swimming and breaks . Would recommend this trip.

Great day out, long dirt road to get there but worth it, saw heaps of crocs and the guides had good sense of humours

It was over my expectations, really good guide

Fantastic experience on the river. Our 2 boat guides were so knowledgeable, funny and entertaining. They knew where to find the crocs and had funny names for all of them. A very good trip!

The itinerary was phenomenal with so much natural beauty & splendour. We were taken a bit by surprise when we arrived at our first camp area. Our guide started by asking the younger members of the group to give preference to the mature ones for the lower bunks in shared cabins. Plus top bunks had no ladders. Fortunately our group was smaller & were all able to find some private space. I think these arrangements could have been discussed earlier with options explained. At our 2nd campsite all the tents appeared with swags for everyone. Overall the pace was very relaxed & enjoyable with plenty of time to enjoy each of the amazing locations we were taken to. I felt we were safely guided through the challenging terrain we encountered at times. Nate provided informative commentary along the way. He was very accommodating to some challenging dietary restrictions in the group. It was a great group that all pitched in to assist for meal & camp setup.

I took this tour in August 2026 with the incredible Rhett Ericsen-Miller as a guide. There was nine in the group, which was smaller than the max load, but even if there had been a bigger group, we'd have been fine I'm sure. The tour has several pickup points at hotels around Darwin, I was in Parap so the pickup was at a servo nearby as I don't think Rhett would have appreciated navigating the massive truck and trailer down to my hotel. On that note, hotels in Darwin are pretty cool about storing excess bags while you're out touring.There were small deviations from the tour itinerary, because of conditions and road closures, so we went to Motor Car Falls as Jim Jim Falls was closed. Not a big deal at all.Rhett had a tremendous amount of knowledge of Aboriginal culture and the importance of the places we visited, and was able to share that knowledge incredibly well. The way he was able to put a lot of things about, for example, the Aboriginal experience, and contextualize some of the more complicated things one might see in Darwin. All guides in Kakadu National Park are required to complete a pretty intensive course on the Aboriginal culture and the lands, and Rhett was able to tell their stories incredibly well. The tour also visits a cultural centre which adds a lot of that context as well.The Koolpin Gorge hike, as the tour marketing suggests, is very challenging and not for people without some degree of fitness. There's no real trail, it requires a fair bit of rock hopping, balance, and agility in places, but the reward of reaching the top of the gorge is more than worth it. We were surprised to see a freshwater crocodile in the second pool, but it seemed indifferent to our presence and just carried on with its day.If you're device dependent, definitely bring a big power bank as after the second night there are limited opportunities to charge devices. Use airplane mode on your phone most of the time, as you won't have any connectivity in most places anyway, and if you do, only Telstra really works. If you've got dietary requirements, pack snacks that work too. I wish I had brought surf shoes for the pools rather than being barefoot.This was a tremendous experience, excellent value, and the highlight of this trip to Australia.I could not have put something together like this for myself for less cost, and even then, the value of the guides are priceless.

This was a great day. Our guide was terrific, Lunch was delicious, the scenery spectacular, and lote of attention to detail and unexpected nice touches. This was the best day tour we have done, so we highly recommend it.
