I highly recommend the one day wine region tour. We went to the amazing historic Tohani vineyard. We had relaxed cycling through the vines and around the area on quiet roads. We learnt wine history tasting from the very knowledgeable wine master and experienced excellent wine. A great one day out if you are in Bucharest. They have great bikes and anyone can achieve it. Stefan our guide was very careful respectful and knowledgeable about Romania and cycling in Romania. Just do it!

My wife and I had a wonderful experience. Beginning with the communications with Marian, questions answered quickly and we were given a lot of insight into what we could expect. Our guide, Mihai was incredible. Very knowledgeable, and willing to share his love of Romania. And a great sense of humor. The lodgings were wonderful, even the ones without dogs. And the meals prepared by the owners of these remote guesthouses were fabulous. The hiking itself was through some very beautiful countryside, from villages to peaks with incredible views. Just hard enough to be challenging at times, but all the time needed to take it in and take pictures. We could not be more grateful.Kevin

The day was wonderful! We had a lovely 15 mile (25KM) bicycle tour of the countryside, mainly rolling hills, ending in a beautiful vineyard. The tennis at the vineyard gave us an interesting tour ending with a fun and informative wine Tasting. This was the highlight of our trip to Romania.

Home-cooked breakfasts, thoughtfully prepared lunch packs, and hearty dinners carried a sense of care that no luxury resort could replicate. The simple village hotels were spotless and comfortable—an appreciated upgrade from the mountain huts and chalets—yet it was the human connection that made each stay memorable. We had a great day in Bulgaria with our engaging guide Claudiu. Totally worth the drive back and forth from Bucharest to see fascinating stone architecture, picturesque waterfalls and several really cool caves. Claudiu was accommodating and informative and let us go at our own pace. Highly recommend!

Victor was one of if not the best guides I have ever encountered. He made the trip outstanding and no one could achieve the level which she performed in making our day one of the best.

Great experience with stunning views. This was our favorite day trip from Bucharest, and we highly recommend as a must do while visiting Romania

We took a day trip with Nicolas to visit his father's nomad apiary. Lovely experience! fully recommend, if you enjoy nature, bees, exceptional honey and good stories.It was an 8hr drive (both ways)! and we were very comfortable in Nicolas's top-of-the-line van, safe driving, lovely scenary, on time pick-up. Overall a 5 star experience.Also loved the traditional Romanian food included in the tour, best meat I have eaten in years! my only regret is not being able to make mamaliga as good as Mr. Nicolae!Make sure to buy a big bottle of each type of honey! incredible flavour and texture 10/10.

Whether you are looking to learn a little about Romania or get some great photos for your Instagram (or both, in my case!) - this tour is a great pick. Too many photos to upload! What a great day tour to get out of our hotel in Bucharest and see some sights. Our tour guide (Aiden) was awesome and very informative about all things related to Romania. I was so excited to see several bears on the road amongst the fall-foliage! Also was able to stop at a neat monastery along the way and see how people in smaller towns live compared to Bucharest. I found this tour with a guide to be worth it since we were able to relax and power-nap in the backseat after a long day. Renting a car would have been entirely too much hassle. Save yourself the time and exhaustion and go with Aiden, instead. You’ll be in good hands, have someone to take you and your friend’s/family photos and feel like you made a new friend!

The tour was fantastic. Easy biking, wonderful guide. For those who enjoy biking, and those who who are even moderately fit (it is an easy, relaxed day), I would recommend this as one of your first activities. It will give you a great introduction to the city and to the Romanian people and culture. Most importantly, it is fun. Highly recommended.Regarding the COVID questions, a couple of comments. There were only three of us, the guide, my friend and myself. We are all vaccinated. The tour never went inside. Romania is a very safe country, for COVID and otherwise, and at no point did my friend or I feel uncomfortable about the COVID protocols.

Mugurel was a wonderful guide around Bucharest. Having grown up in the city, he knows everything about the history and recent political events, but tailors the info for our interests. Warm, friendly and humorous, we felt like we made a new friend!

I was the only one who had signed up for this tour on this particular day, so it was more of a private tour. My tour guide was very nice and friendly, however, it was a rather long day of mostly being in the car. I would still recommend this tour for the experience of seeing the beautiful Romanian country side, the amazing drive through the Carpathian mountains on the Transfagarasan Road.

We had THE BEST time. I was looking for a tour based in Romania, using local guest houses, walking on trails, paths, forest roads, small roads through villages, and breathtaking scenery. And that's what we got. And every meal was provided. Hiking meals were simple but breakfast and dinner were wonderful, everything so fresh. They limit tours to 10. We were only two which made it our own private tour. Last but not least, our guide was a lifelong Romanian, extremely knowledgeable about the country! We learned so much. Thank you, Active Travel.
