Top Austrian Alps Opera

This was a highlight of our trip to Austria. The food was delicious and the music was beautiful! Would definitely highly recommend this experience!

Wonderful evening! It was beyond my expectations, music was lovely and the food and service were excellent! I highly recommend this experience.

I thought the performance was entertaining even if you didn’t know anything about opera. The service was great. Our waiter helped find discounts with our wine selection.

Live performance AMAZING cast! Get there early, everyone who works there is so kind and helpful, good at their job. Especially making it special for my brothers birthday with a special song and brownie. He was truly thankful!

So. We were expecting some Mozart with rubber cicken and stewed vegetables. WRONG. Food was great; fixed menu because of the need to interweave the food and the performances plus the fact that there were about 100 people to be fed (we were there in the shoulder season so the room was only 90% full; our waiter told us that in the peak season they open the room up and can seat about 190). The menu was simple; a chicken and lemon cake nsomme, roast chicken with mased potatoes and steamed vegetables-all perfectly done and a Salzburger Nockerle for dessert. All cooked perfectly and delivered by very professional wait staff. Gigantic wine list. And that was just the food. We were mainly there for the music; a string quintet in period costume and playing period instruments plus a baritone and a coloratura soprano, all of whom were superb. The singers got out there amongst the audience to the great delight of everyone. And finally, there was the venue. A beautiful room in an amazing building. The St Peter Stiftskulinarium, according to its Wikipedia entry, is the oldest restaurant in the world. We spent about 300 Euros for the evening, of which 120 Euros was for the wine; a really good Austrian Pinot Noir. We don't normally spend that much on wine but we hadn't hitherto known they even made Pinot Noir in Austria!!

Relaxing evening with delicious food and wonderful music. The service was good . Expect to pay for water.

It was unexpectedly really good. The music was so good the singers were amazing. The dinner is served In stages so you’re not crazy full ready to go to sleep. The food came out hot for a big crowd. That was a nice surprise.

This was truly a lot of fun. I was looking for the ticket booth downstairs by the door but just note that you need to go upstairs. Also note that there will be drinks for sale with the dinner, I didn't realize when they brought water that it was going to be 8 plus euros. But, the entertainment was top-notch and the food was as I suspected, good just a little unusual.

Wonderful concert and dinner in a historical, unique restaurant! The menu was three courses with soup, a main entree, and dessert. It was very tasty and special to the Classical period. The concert took place throughout the evening and was thoughtfully paced after each course. The musicians played a selection of well-known Mozart pieces with two opera singers performing and putting on a great show!It was an intimate setting and a special evening that I highly recommend!

We had a great time at this dinner concert! The classical music with the opera singers in such a beautiful and historic building made for a great night. The food was delicious, and we had some yummy glasses of wine. The singers would do a set of 5-6 songs and then you’d get a course of food, then they’d resume until the entire meal was finished. Highly recommend if you want to do something fun with your evening in Salzburg beyond just dinner.

A delightful experience, with 5 excellent musicians and two opera singers, performing excerpts from three Mozart operas (Don Giovanni, Le Nozze di Figaro and Die Zauberflote), in a large room in what us reputed to be the oldest restaurant in Europe (803), right in the historical heart of Salzburg. The food was excellent, as was the service throughout. Would heartily recommend it

Fantastic setting. The Orchestra were amazing and the opera singers were very good. The food was loverly and the staff were very very helpful. It felt like were were millionaires having a night out with the service.

The food and service was excellent but the star was the music! It was beautiful and matched the venue perfectly.

Great experience, beautiful location, good food... A little difficult to find, not quite as described in the directions and but worth it..
