Austrian Alps Travel Guides (Updated September 2026)

Due to miscommunication and confusing signage on the bus we missed the group bus to our destination. The staff put our small group into a van with a personable tour guide for the first leg of the trip where we were caught up with the rest of the group,

Sophia was the best. Haven been on many segway tours in many countries, this was one of the most enjoyable. She has a super fun personality and added fun anecdotes like how much a mansion on the river was for sale. The scenery was beautiful and we got to see some amazing homes up close. Highly recommend this tour.

Absolutely fantastic tour. It was the highlight of our 16 day European trip. Shiva was a fabulous guide, very knowledgeable and friendly. Perfect sized group of 7 and we lucked out with beautiful sunny weather. It does get a bit chilly and windy up on the mountain, so bring a jacket. I highly recommend to anyone wanting to see Hallstatt and go up the cable car to the Five Fingers to experience the stunning natural beauty of the area.

Paragliding in Austria was an unforgettable experience and easily one of the highlights of my trip. The scenery was absolutely breathtaking, with panoramic views of the Alps, green valleys, lakes, and charming mountain villages below. From takeoff to landing, everything felt well-organized, safe, and professional.The instructors were friendly, experienced, and made me feel comfortable even though I was nervous at first. They explained everything clearly and made sure I felt secure before we took off. Once we were in the air, the flight was incredibly peaceful and exciting at the same time. Floating above the Austrian mountains was a once-in-a-lifetime feeling.The whole experience was smooth, fun, and worth every moment. I would highly recommend paragliding in Austria to anyone looking for adventure, beautiful views, and a truly memorable activity. I would definitely do it again!

Our family, 2 adults and 3 kids aged 8-15, really enjoyed this activity - there was a good balance of demonstration/explaining and hands-on work. Our instructors were very friendly and made sure to check in on everyone and offer help. The apple streudel was our favorite, but the Salzburger Nokerl was also fun to make. All the food was delicious, and we really enjoyed the goulash they served before the treats. The only challenge was that we couldn't finish all the dessert, but they do provide to-go containers so you can take the extras home. The cave atmosphere was also really neat. and we loved how the school/building was built into the side of the cliff.

The convenience of a private tour led by an enthusiastic guide from Tirol Travel made the trip well worthwhile. The Highline179 was a fun optional add on.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time making apple strudel and Salzburg Knockerl. My husband and I had fun making it together. The teachers were excellent, and very helpful. A must when in Salzburg.

Spectacular scenery and particularly appreciated the benefits of a private guide who went above and beyond to assist us in every way.

We learned a lot about the area from our knowlegeable guide.and it was beautiful! We had ample time to visit Hallstatt and to enjoy a boat ride.

Hallstatt is strikingly beautiful. The tour bus allowed enough rest stops. Views on the drive were lovely. It is a long day. Nice not to have to drive it ourselves.
