Top Amsterdam Sightseeing Passes

We had booked a VR tour for September 11, 2026, but unfortunately it turned out that our date had to be cancelled by VR-Voyage Amsterdam. They solved it for us in a super nice way. In the first instance, we were offered about 6 - 8 alternative tour dates, but none of them worked for us. VR Voyage also offered their sister company Stromma as an alternative for a VR tour of the canals. Stromma could also offer a VR tour on our provisional date and time, so we went for that. Our original booking was directly transferred to Stromma and we also received a 20% discount on Stromma's prices. This is wonderfully and customer-friendly solved. If this quality is the standard of their actions, then that also means something for the quality of the VR trip. We look forward to it!!

It's really great to let me know what a city can experience. Before I knew only the famous sights and malls, now I can experience some of the local specialities like dining, guided tours, niche attractions, etc. And it saves a lot on ticket costs, making my trip more fulfilling and colorful. The only problem was that the location of the address often deviated, such as the meeting place for this one-day trip to Sheephorn Village. Go city was incorrectly located and I had to check the email again and re-navigate according to the meeting point mentioned in it.

What a fabulous pass. We did over 20 things and got over €450 of value from the pass.

Be sure to get the iAmsterdam code from Cool Destinations before trying to activate the ticket. Otherwise, you’ll have end up not being able to access it. Also, I could never figure out how to book a Heineken Experience through the I Amsterdam app.

This canal cruise was delightful . Great staff on board , very professional and well trained . Our driver , I think she was called Cynthia was very capable and our guide was funny and friendly with lots of knowledge about this fabulous city

This card was an absolute joy to use all over Amsterdam. When you see how much each individual attraction, museum and the cost of public transport. Buying this card is a HUGE saving for a long weekend trip like we had. I went with my mum (we are both adults but Cool Destinations wouldn’t let me choose that as an option when writing this review). It made travelling around and exploring this amazing, beautiful city so much easier and affordable than it would have been if we had paid for each aspect of our trip individually. I wouldn’t hesitate to suggest to anyone that buying an I Amsterdam card is an essential part of your trip/break to Amsterdam.

The city tour by bus was comfortable and informative, and the canal cruise added a relaxing touch. Perfect mix of sightseeing on land and water—totally worth it!

Really great! A super fun, and especially interesting experience. A lot of explanation (different languages possible). I have taken a round trip before, but this route is really great. You will see things and places that you don't often see with other operators. Great crew, spontaneous, friendly, helpful. Not too large a team so that there is enough attention for everyone. A nice drink is included in the price, always tasty!😜👍

I had used my pass on more things then I thought I would. I saved so much money by having this pass and got to experience Amsterdam in it's full. Totally worth it

Wonderful. Things to improve are there, such as the locations of meeting points are not matching with the addresses given and the location maps uploaded in Go City App. So we had to go up and down to find the meeting point location, not all the attractions but one or two places.

Me and our two teenagers took the opportunity to do Amsterdam and at the same time see Harry Styles. Since none of us have been to Amsterdam before, we thought we would try to maximize our days there. After comparing different options: pay all admissions and travel or use any of the discount cards, we chose 72h with I Amsterdam Card. We felt that we got good value for money and profited from the card compared to buying separately.We planned our days away from home and checked out what activities we absolutely wanted to do and what others were nearby if we had time to spare. Planning makes it possible to do a lot! Do not forget that some attractions must be pre-booked with timeslot, which then sets the framework for the schedule. Our recommendation is a maximum of two of these per day to be flexible.The only downside is probably that the app, which we chose to use, was extremely difficult to scan in public transport. Sometimes worked and sometimes not! Since one will both scan in and out and it malfunctioned all the time, unfortunately, we sometimes opted out of eg tram. It was hard to get help from the staff and at a stop when we desperately tried to check out just drove the driver away before we all got out. For those of us who have found it stressful to be quick in and out, a physical card is recommended. When our cards weren’t thinking, we used regular bank cards that always worked. It seemed to be the QR code scanner that was a bit 50/50. We also missed that buses were not included - all we saw were other kinds of buses than GVB.In conclusion, this card is highly recommended for those who really want to maximize a big city experience but are prepared to plan a bit in advance.

If you plan to travel and explore about the city using tram, train, or metro, it is worth the savings in your pocket. Free admission to wonderful museums- some you do have to book for free online prior to visiting, but we didn’t find this an issue. The only negative is retrieving the card- it’s very inconvenient to have to physically go to the I Am Amsterdam location in the train station to retrieve it. Online? No, they say you can download the app and then put down the eight digit cc number to have it online and on your phone. Every time I looked at my voucher, there was never an eight digit number. So there we went and the helpful employee there said that unfortunately many people who buy this card through a third-party, never get the numbers sent to them so that they can download it onlineSo- my advice don’t buy from Cool Destinations or anyone else and purchase directly from the I Am Amsterdam store.

This was by far the best thing we did with the kids in Amsterdam by far. So cool to get a boat ride and a bit of history in one experience, on a luxury boat, comfortable seats, yummy drinks too. The VR experience was something none of us had done before and I was a little unsure but it totally brought to life Holland in the 17th century and it was so cool taking the headsets on and off and comparing the canals of the 17th century to now. Funny, engaging commentary. Very highly recommend.

A wonderful insight into life a long time ago into a city that build the foundations for commerce and freedom. A perfect length mixing between the here and the now and the past. Extremely comfortable classy boat with a small group with the first drink free. highly recommended!
