We were only in york for 24 hours and felt like we learned so much about the city in a short amount of time on this tour! Mad Alice was a fabulous story teller and was intentional. She knew everyone by the time we all left. Highly recommend!

A must do trip on your visit to York. Alice was fantastic! Engaging and knowledgable. So friendly and got to know all our names! A brilliant treat on our stay in York. Highly recommend to everyone!

Four of us booked this tour, initially because of the TV series, but also because it gave us the chance to see the beautiful Dales during a relatively short holiday. I can’t praise it enough. John, our wonderful guide, was so knowledgeable (and friendly) and the tour, much of it through breathtaking scenery along narrow lanes, was everything I could have hoped for. Grassington was gorgeous, the Wensleydale Creamery a great spot for lunch (and a chance to overeat on cheese!), and Bolton Castle a fitting finale. Fabulous all round and thank you John for an unforgettable day.

We had a really fun scary time, the staff were amazing funny and scary. The staff helped me a lot with my wheelchair and with the use of stair lift I managed the whole show. I would recommend it to everyone wanting a piece of history in a scary memorable way.

Excellent experience and would recommend! So much to see and hear and lots of fun. The actors were fantastic - very engaging and every small detail was covered from dress, set, props, make up etc.

This was a wonderful tour, whether or not you are a fan of the show/books. The Yorkshire Dales are beautiful and our guide John was extremely knowledgeable. He has lived in the area most of his life and clearly has a love for it, as his passion comes through in his commentary. I highly recommend the tour.

Wow, just wow. We went as a family of 4 with kids 6 and 8 and we were all in absolute stitches from start to finish. The perfect balance of movement, magic and none stop fun - I couldnt recommend this tour any higher. Our children are still talking about it weeks later. Its pitched perfectly with jokes that hit on two levels and genuine magic 🎩 ✨️ I was also impressed with how masterfully the wonderful wizard encouraged and involved every child, taking the time to connect with the shy ones and having fun with our super confident talkative eldest in a way that made her feel great and us proud parents. Also a shout out to how well and politely they manage the public, a wizard doing tricks attracts attention but the tour takes you to quiet nooks and crannies and the wizard manages any passers by (or stoppers and watchers) with absolute grace so it feels a private tour while also not feeling awkward for anyone (public or tour alike). Genuine, good natured fun.

Tom was brilliant. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and had quite a range in our group 21-65 but everyone learnt something. Tom was also very flexible when my mum became ill and we needed to change the dates last minute-thank you Tom! He was also patient with my mum and her slower walking and mobility not to mention her funny questions. Would highly recommend for something different in Durham!

14 September 2026. Guide Jeremy gave an excellent and interesting presentation. Great humor. Driver Shawn is such a considered driver . Well don’t to both of them . Highly recommend going on it for an overview of York city .

Unfortunately the pavement was being dug up, so the starting point was very noisy. However this is not temporary. Magnificent Merlot our witch was entertaining and very knowledgeable. Lots of history and folklore. Our small group visit York regularly but learnt many new historic facts.
