Established in 1607 as the first permanent English colony in the New World, Virginia was one of the Thirteen Colonies and Richmond, the state capital, is one of America’s oldest major cities. The state is renowned for many important Revolutionary and Civil War historic sites. Monticello, Thomas Jefferson’s home and plantation is near Charlotte. Virginia offers outdoor activities, beaches, over 30 wineries, and excellent Chesapeake crabs and oysters.

The RVATukTuk tour is great for a business group and for people that may have difficulties walking long distances. Our tour was comfortable for 5. The tour director was excellent, but unfortunately, I don't remember his name. He pointed out very minor points for interest that most people would ever notice. Very informative, even for someone that has lived in Richmond for 35 years. I definitely would recommend and hope to use this service again.

We went on a city tour with Annie and had a lovely time. It was an unexpectedly chilly and rainy day, but we had heated seats and blankets provided by RVA TukTuk. We saw a surprising amount in 90 minutes and learned a lot about the history of the city. Annie was a great guide--very knowledgeable, fun, and accommodating. We will definitely be back to try some of the other specialty tours!

The kayak tour was excellent and so fun! Our guide, Matt, was so friendly and SO knowledgeable about the history of VA beach, marine life, and just about everything you could think of! Very fun tour and everything you could need is provided for you!

Melinda was Spooktacular!!! The tour encompasses an easy walk, creative stories, and wonderful details. My 11 year old daughter was delightfully entertained-no cell phone needed! A great family acclimation to the town. We all left in good spirits!

Great historical site for interactive experience. Start with the movie that provides history of the location. The Powhatan village was enlightening and we saw how baskets and rope were made and how animal skins were processed for creating clothing. The Fort was also interactive with a musket demonstration,blacksmithing and cooking on the fire. The staff on the ships were friendly and knowledgeable.

Our tour guide was also a middle school English teacher who grew up in the area and used to take these walks with her family. You can tell she loves the history and the stories behind the ghost sightings. We even payed a little more per person to do a 30 minute longer tour. We got cut a little short because of an incident where a much younger drunk man shoved an old man. The police had to be called but our tour guide and other colleagues were calm headed and professional. We totally enjoyed the experience and even caught an image of what appears to be a woman in one window of a house and a young boy in the next window. Oddly enough when we re-reviewed our photos the child’s head turned from sideways to straight forward.

We could have spent more time here. So much to see and information to read. It is a fabulous story told with care and expertise in a fun and sometimes touchable way. There is something for every age and interest. There is an introductory film to give you and overview, as well as a classroom that layered on details. The outside area gives you a real feel for the times as well as the how's and why's of the way things were done. Many people to answer questions, and demonstrate the ways of the past.

We had such a wonderful time! We booked the Segway history tour, and we're pleasantly surprised to learn We had the tour guide all to ourselves. I guess the 10am tour on the Sunday morning of St. Paddy's day isn't a popular time! Henry, our amazing guide, gave us a pretty unique tour after asking if we were also interested in some of the mural art around the city. We got a blend of both tours! He also pointed out some great eateries and local experiences to check out during our stay, several of which we went on to do later in the day. (Thanks, Henry!) The Segway experience itself was so incredibly fun! Within a couple of minutes, we were both comfortable, ans within a half hour, it felt like an extension of our own bodies - totally intuitive! I highly recommend this unique experience!

Fantastic initial tour of Richmond. Our guide took us to main sites and shared interesting stories so we could go back to the places that interested us. Also we were running a bit late and they waited up for us. Appreciate the flexibility!
