Ketchikan Travel Guides (Updated September 2026)

This excursion was the highlight of our holiday. We were lucky enough to see sea lions, bald eagles and lots of bears! The two guides that we had were clearly passionate about wildlife and very enthusiastic in sharing their knowledge with us. We had the most amazing day and would not hesitate to book this tour again, if we are ever able to re-visit this beautiful part of the world.

We are duck tour lovers so this is not our first and won’t be our last. We were fortunate enough to have a Ketchikan local Ellie to be our guide and she was very knowledgeable about the town’s history. The only thing I miss is no quackers till the end, I get it, the poor driver must go insane listening to that all day but that’s part of the experience for me.

This experience was fantastic. Judah was a great host and fun to travel with. We were able to see bubble feeding and he knew where to go to see this. We were lucky enough that the whale "Phoenix" even breeched feeding in the harbor right before we left. It was a raining much of the time but the boat is comfortable, warm and well appointed for his guests. There were 6 of us so we were spoiled. I can't rate this tour high enough. Do this you will not regret it.

The show was corky and fun. Great way to learn about Ketchikan’s lumber history and the exciting lumberjack sports.

We had an amazing experience with our tour guide. She was so friendly and knowledgeable. She really made sure to play close attention and care to elderly father. We were able to see a bear which was certainly the highlight of the trip! Her personal experience and stories of the town made it even more memorable. Highly recommend!!

We had a fantastic time on the Duck Tour! It was a fun and entertaining way to see Ketchikan from both land and water. Sierra was an outstanding narrator—knowledgeable, funny, energetic, and engaging throughout the entire tour. She shared fascinating local history and kept everyone entertained from beginning to end. We highly recommend this tour, especially if you’re visiting Ketchikan on a cruise. Be sure to ask for Sierra—she made the experience truly memorable!

OMG this was worth every penny! It was a true all you can eat Dungeness crabs and they were AMAZING !! The show was awesome too!!

The kayaking was very fun! We saw lots of wildlife. The guides were knowledgeable and the pace was relaxed yet also adventurous. Local snacks and beverages were a nice touch.

Had to be the best whale watch we’ve ever had. We’ve been to Mexico, Hawaii and Alaska many times.The boat was in great shape and Captain Judah shared his excitement for whales through the whole journey.They selected local place for lunch and it was truly delicious.Judah is now our go to captain in Ketchikan.You will not be disappointed having Lunch and Whaled.

We were fortunate to have scheduled this in September, despite coming from a 4,000 passenger ship. Our kayak journey consisted of the four of us and a guide. We traversed a seaway, circled an island, saw eagles, seals, and tidal creatures. We had learned and continuous information from our very amenable guide, Lucy. It was a morning well-spent.

Teddy was a superior guide. He was personable and entertaining, and is basically Ketchikan’s goodwill ambassador. We really enjoyed his sense of humor and his commitment to his customers. He knew exactly where to go to see wildlife and the tour absolutely flew by. Highly recommend this gentleman to guide you in the unique town of Ketchikan.

This was such an amazing tour. Teddy is a great guide. He’s so enthusiastic and truly gets you excited about what a great place Ketchikan is. We saw salmon, seals, and a bear and went to the beach to see eagles and enjoy a snack. The totem poles were also a great stop. If you want to see a lot of wildlife, learn a lot of history and have a great time, this is your tour.

They are great at finding whales!! Said they could spot them from a mile away and I believe them!! Very friendly and knowledgeable!

Theodore and Morgan were amazing! We were able to see a whale up close. They threw fish to a bald eagle so it would fly right by us. We saw some seals as well. There was free, coffee, hot chocolate, water, bottles, and snacks provided. There is also a restroom on board. A wonderful experience for a good price. 2.5 hours long! We had about 15 people and did not feel crowded. There was lots of room for sitting. We were super lucky with clear skies and calm water.
