Central Valley 2026 Calendar of Events

Today, my girlfriend and I had the pleasure of taking the Coffee and Chocolate Tour at NorthFields, and we absolutely loved it!We started by learning about the chocolate-making process and gradually made our way through different types of chocolate, tasting each one along the way. We then did the same with the coffee, learning about its process and getting to experience different flavors and varieties.A special mention to Dani, who was an absolutely fantastic guide. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and made the entire experience even more enjoyable.The tour lasted around 2.5 hours, and we truly believe it was well worth it. It was a great experience from beginning to end.Thank you so much to the entire NorthFields team, and especially to Dani, for making this such a memorable experience!

Wow, wow, and more wow! Our guide and driver, Alex, curated a magical day of surprises and delights. We give him a solid 200 out of 10! He turned city traffic jams into an introduction to the geography and culture of Costa Rica using a map the entire van could see. What might look like a long drive in the description became a journey of discovery at each of Alex’s carefully chosen spots. Lunch and dinner were filling and delicious. We stayed on schedule without feeling rushed, with multiple stops to break up the trip. The landscape is unbelievably beautiful and well worth the drive. The Arenal volcano delivers - we even saw steam from yesterday’s eruption! The hot springs is a relaxing and beautiful place with a view of the volcano and pools surrounded with flowers, bamboo, and so much greenery. Waterfalls, animals, surprises, beauty, and fun - the perfect day withe the perfect guide.

Excellent, even in the pouring rain! Our guide was wonderful and we saw so much wildlife, including 4 sloths! We brought our 2.5 year old with us and he had a blast too. Do bring rain gear, better to be safe than sorry.

This tour exceeded my expectations. We saw and tried the fruit to the bar and different coffee drinks. The chocolate was delicious and it was interesting to try the different % next to each other. The guide was fun and I highly recommend.

Great day! We were the only group booked on this tour for the day, but Fernando made sure to give us lots of information about the provinces of Costa Rica and about Central America as a whole. Manuel Antonio NP was beautiful, where we got to see monkeys playing in the trees and several types of plants. Fernando gave us a ~25 minute tour (walk) from the entrance of the park to the beach, where he then left us for a few hours. The water was incredibly warm and the sun was strong! We easily could've stayed another 3 hours. Lunch was served on the roof of a local hotel overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

Alex is the best guide you could ask for! He is very attentive, sweet, caring, and funny. We enjoyed many stops to check out waterfalls, iguanas, birds, and some sloths. I recommend this tour to everyone! Thank you Alex for such a special day filled with smiles and laughs!

Our guide is so knowledgable , and friendly! She was thw best guide for me. I learned about tree frogs and me other critters of the night. The host family prepare delicious traditional Costa Rican meal over wood burning stove. The property was beautiful. I am grateful they shared it with us! I highly recommend this tour!

The tour was great! We were able to see three out of six sloths and saw other animals as well. The waterfall was beautiful but you could not get close to it. 10/10 recommend this tour.

This was the second time I took this tour and was happy because I got to see one of the things I didn't get to see the first time. Just as the first time the tour was well handled and the lunch was even better than last year. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I am impressed at the amazing job that this organization does to protect wildlife. I highly recommend the visit. And also, their restaurant is really good. Definitely worth the trip!!!

The bus/walking tour of San Jose was excellent. Héctor, our guide, was friendly, very knowledgeable, and did a great job leading our small group through the city. Lunch was delicious, and the stops we made at the museums and landmarks gave us great insights into the history and culture.

This tour was awesome! We saw 6 sloths, as well as various other wildlife. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable, and knew the answer to every single question we had. Also free watermelon at the end!
