Top Lagos Dining Experiences

We as a family did two of Brodie’s tours. The walking tour and the wine not tour. We learned a lot about the history of Lagos, very informative! The wine tour was great, simple, relaxing, coupled with great friendly company . The one thing that stood out for me was that Brodie has a passion for The Algarve region of Portugal! Simply fantastic!

This tour is an absolutely unbeatable experience, and this is coming from someone who is not much of an outdoorswoman! TJ clearly put a lot of thought into making this journey memorable, unique, and paced right for all members of the group. The day started off with introductions amongst the group and some orientation of where we would be hiking, with some background on the region. We did two hikes, the first of which was more difficult, and the second of which included the sunset tapas. The first hike was quite challenging (for me, at least), but TJ both encouraged and pushed us to test our own limits, the reward being incredible views and a huge sense of accomplishment. He made sure to pause regularly for breathers, during which he either shared background on the local ecosystem, or just let us pause to take in the scenery. Truly a thoughtful approach to outdoor leadership. I was also impressed with how well prepared TJ was for all parts of this hike. He brought extra backpacks, water, and even jackets for those of us that did not believe how cold the coast would get (BELIEVE him y'all, that temp drop was like 30°F from the midday heat). The tapas were extremely generously portioned, with some leftovers after we were all stuffed, and all locally sourced or handmade by the guide. Even a lifelong olive hater (me) couldn't get enough of his olive dip. All in all, if you are young and healthy, or old and really healthy, this is a must do experience during your trip to the Algarve!

Max is a very dear sailor. We took a family walk at a special time. He gave us all the attention from the booking until the day of the tour. Did everything you could to make the experience unforgettable. I highly recommend!

For only being here for 3 days, this experience was an absolute must do. Loved being able to make the time what we wanted, from having green wine flowing, playing our own tunes, hearing about the history of Lagos, and getting to bond with our tour guide and Captain, Gui and Max. Two funny friends who were easy to get on with, a mix of laughter, great convo, freedom and an intimate feel.

I had a wonderful hiking experience along the magnificent Algarve coastline with West Coast Adventure Company! Our guides, TJ and Trevin, are deeply passionate, caring, and highly knowledgeable about the land and its vibrant history. As an inexperienced hiker, I was nervous, but they made me feel safe and well taken care of throughout our daily hikes. We had a remarkable sunset tapas dinner at the end of our tour. This was truly an extraordinary journey!

It is a fun way to learn about the culture, from shopping in the market with Joanna to cooking in the kitchen with her experienced mother, Corinna. The dishes were made with simple fresh ingredients with so much flavour. I wish I could captured that smell with my camera when I took the photos! I always want to try catapalan. However, most of the restaurants only offer the dish for 2 people. Now I learned how to make it!

We have taken a few cooking classes but this was special from start to finish. Pedro was the consummate host. He welcomed us into his home like we were old friends. The dish was fabulous as well as the conversation. It was a wonderful experience!

Spent an unforgettable afternoon with friends, tasting local oysters on a speedboat in one of the splendid coves of Lagos. Max is the most gracious host, and pulled out all the stops to make sure we made the most out of our experience. Thank you Max from all of us! We'll be back.

We had a wonderful time shopping at the fresh market for our fish and mussels, then cooking! Jo, her mom and team were amazing! We learned so much, took part in preparing the dishes and then enjoying them. Such a friendly and welcoming experience, will definitely book again!

Pedro is great! This is an unusual experience… in a good way!!. He welcomes you into his home, you have an opportunity to have real conversation about food, culture, history, family, etc. He taught us how to make a typical Portuguese meal (Cataplana). We also enjoyed time on his rooftop while making his carrot salad and having a cocktail. Overall, this was a fantastic experience. Don’t hesitate to book!

Max and Pete were absolutely amazing hosts, our party of 8 including children were blown away by the experience a beautiful evening cruise. We even had a couple who do not travel well on boats and they loved it. The food and drinks provided were gorgeous and endless top ups throughout!! The kids loved paddle boarding off the boat too, would definitely recommend and would book a full day next time. Both Max and Pete were very knowledgeable about the area and gave us a great onsite into Lagos!

If you’re expecting the usual stuffy wine tour with someone in a waistcoat talking about tannins while you politely nod and pretend to understand - this is definitely not that tour. From the moment you climb onto the minibus, the fun (and the wine!) begins. Brodie brings a brilliant vibe that makes you feel like you’ve joined a day out with a mate rather than signed up for a formal wine lecture. He’s down-to-earth, relaxed, hilarious, and genuinely passionate about Portuguese wine.We learnt loads about Portuguese wine without ever feeling like we were sitting through a lesson. Brodie has a way of sharing his knowledge that’s easy, entertaining and actually sticks - probably helped by the fact that there was plenty of wine involved!The whole day had such a great atmosphere: great wine, great laughs, fascinating stories and absolutely no wine snobbery. Just good people, good vibes and some seriously good Portuguese wine.If you want a wine tour that’s fun, relaxed and a little bit different, do yourself a favour and book this one. Just be prepared to laugh, learn and possibly develop a slightly more enthusiastic relationship with Portuguese wine than you intended!Highly recommended - and cheers to Brodie for making wine tasting so much fun! 🍷🤙

Brodie picked us up direct from our accomodation, we were a group of 13 so he kindly had arranged for his friend to assist with driving.The day was fantastic, we visited two wineries and stopped for a lovely picnic by a beautiful river. The whole group had a swim in the river, and enjoyed a lovely outdoor lunch with wine.Both wineries were great, with delicious wine.Brodie (and his mate Alonso) kept our drinks topped up at all times, and kept the tunes flowing over the speakers. We were told all about the wineries and the local area, we learned a lot - and then drank so much we forgot it all.Honestly this was such a good day, we'd do it again in a heartbeat. Highly, highly recommend by all 13 of us.
